child called Antoni
Gaudí was born
near Reus, in
Catalonia.

3. While he was a child, he
suffered from an illness.

spend a lot of time
alone and a lot of

became a very
famous

at first ridiculed by his

“La sagrada familia”

8. He spent the last few years of his life
living in the crypt of the
" Sagrada Familia" .

9. On 7 June 1926
Gaudí was hit by a
tram.
Because of his ragged attire and
empty pockets, many cab
drivers refused to pick him up.

10. He was taken to a
paupers' hospital
in Barcelona. Nobody
recognized Gaudí
until his friends
found him the next
day.

11. He died three
days later on 10
June 1926, at
age 73, and was
interred at La
Sagrada
Família

12. When he died, the Sagrada Familia was not
finished, and people from Barcelona went on
working on
this
wonderful
masterpiece.
