1. The Dreaded Rain
The wind blew around with an eerie sound. The clouds gathered together and
cumulonimbus clouds started to form, blocking out Mr Sun’s rays. The world darkened and the
clouds puffed up like a frog’s belly. Then it happened; the clouds broke and rain pattered down cars
like bullets. The rain was so intense that it came between every tiles of the roof, under every stone
in the garden; not an inch of the world was dry. Visibility was poor – the rain blocked out and stinged
the eyes of people. It was total pandemonium.
BANG. A fireball erupted from a car and a mushroom cloud punched through the sky. Cars
honked as they did not know what was stopping them. Someone called the ambulance and soon, a
wailing siren could be heard in the distance. A light was seen in the distance and the ambulance
came to the scene. Lightning caused panic and terror. A tree was struck by the wrath of the lightning
sent by Zeus. The tree was a burning hand silhouetted in the background. As soon as the rain had
come, it stopped. The clouds separated again. Light came back to the world. Birds started to chirp
again and butterflies fluttered here and there. The accident victim was taken to the hospital. Word
started being passed around that the man was Alvin. He had driven his car too fast, and because of
the low visibility range, he had banged into a fence. As he had just refilled his car, the oil leaked and
sparked causing the disaster. It was investigated that he was going speedily as he did not want to
miss the movie.
This disaster remains like a scar in everyone’s heart. It leaves the impression of what people
are or will be like in the future. A person who treats life and safety lower than a movie. What is so
good about a movie? You can always buy a DVD of the movie. Even though the money for the movie
2. ticket will be wasted, what will you prefer – safety or a movie. All I would like to say to you is that
SAFETY FIRST.
