24. Palm Jumeirah
• The Palm Jumeirah is
an artificial archipelago created using land
reclamation by Nakheel, a company owned
by the Dubai government in United Arab
Emirates and was designed and developed
by HHCP architects. It is one of three islands
called the Palm Islands (Palm Jumeirah, Palm
Jebel Ali and Palm Deira) which extend into
the Persian Gulf, increasing Dubai’s shoreline by a
total of 520 kilometers (320 mi). The Palm
Jumeirah is the smallest and the original of three
Palm Islands under development by Nakheel.

33. Burj Al Arab
• The distinctive sail-shaped silhouette of Burj Al Arab
is more than just a stunning landmark: it's a symbol
of modern Dubai.
• It is the fourth tallest hotel in the world. Burj Al
Arab stands on an artificial island 280 m (920 ft)
from Jumeirah beach and is connected to the
mainland by a private curving bridge. The shape of
the structure is designed to mimic the sail of a ship.
Sometimes referred to as "the world's only 7-Star
hotel", its star rating is disputed.

• known as Burj Dubai prior to its inauguration, is
a skyscraper in Dubai and is the tallest man-made
structure in the world, at 829.8 m (2,722 ft). It has 126
floors.
• Outside, WET Enterprises designed a fountain system at a
cost of Dh 800 million Illuminated by 6,600 lights and 50
colored projectors, it is 275 m long and shoots water
150 m (490 ft) into the air, accompanied by a range of
classical to contemporary Arabic and world music. On 26
October 2008, Emir announced that based on results of a
naming contest the fountain would be called the Dubai
Fountain

• The Dubai Mall is the world's largest shopping mall based
on total area and sixth largest by gross leasable area.
• Dubai Aquarium and Under Water Zoo - The Mall's
Dubai Aquarium and Discovery Centre, developed and
operated by Oceanic Australia Group, officially earned
the Guinness World Record for the world's
"Largest Acrylic Panel.
• Reel Cinema -opened on 14 August 2009 on the second
floor of Dubai Mall. Reel Cinema is a 22 screen megaplex
with more than 2,800 seats. All screens are currently
open. It is the largest cinema in the region

fabrics. The UAE textile market in 2011 was valued
at USD 13 billion which has grown at CAGR of 9.9% during
the period 2006-2011.
• UAE is one of the major textile markets of the world
which includes fibers, fabrics, cloth, apparels, outerwear
and several others.
• The UAE textile industry is diverse in its products. In 2011,
the knitted fabric was the most demanded textile material
in UAE which accounted for around 49.7% followed by
Woven fabrics with about ~% of the overall market
demand in the country.
• In 2011, UAE exported the maximum to the US (among
the countries covered) at a value of USD 57.12 million.
