3. Vocabulary:
eBook: A book-length publication in digital form, consisting
of text, images, or both.
eBook Format: All eBooks have a format consistent with
the device with which they can be viewed. For example, e-
Ink Kindles can only read Kindle formatted eBooks (.azw).
e-Ink Kindle: Any non-tablet Kindle.
OverDrive (Website): AHML’s customized virtual branch
where you can view and checkout eBooks.
Tablet Kindle: Typically, the Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD.

AHML cardholder privileges
• Up to 3 titles checked out at a
time.
• eBooks can be returned early.
• Items cannot be renewed but
may be checked out again if
available.
• Up to 5 titles can be put on
hold.
• 72 hours to check out held item
when it becomes available.
• You decide your lending periods
– 1 week or 2 weeks.
