1. Indian Defense Budget for Fy 2013
Against a widely held belief, the total defense outlay has been increased. This increase can be
viewed from two angles- Nominal, if it is compared to the budgetary estimates of Fy 2012
and Significant, if it is compared to the Revised estimates. (When the MoD was forced to
return funds).
With the increased availability of funds and the looming general elections, I sincerely hope
that the MoD can actually put pen to paper and close some of the deals, both small & large by
the middle of 2013.
