2. MAY 13 ITALY SAN LORENZO MARKET
• We visited the San Lorenzo food market
and meat market .
• We picked out vegetables and meat
from the market for our meal at
ColleBeretovineyard.
• We toured the vineyard and we had a
wine tasting.
• The vineyard was beautiful !
• Sformato with ricotta and asparagus on
tomatoes ristretto was our first course.
• Our second course was ricotta stuffed
zuchinni flowers which were fabulous
• We also had home made ravioli and
Cantuccini biscuits.
3. Cooking Class
May 14
• Cooking class today at the Apicius
International School of Hospitality .
• Seafood is more popular in the southern
region of Italy and in Sicily .
• We cooked a sword fish Sicilian style
which is a very popular dish in the Sicilian
area and in the summertime.
• We also cooked a Tuscan tomato and
bread soup which a very popular dish in
the summertime and is also very popular
in the Toscana region.
• The Tuscany region is most popular for its
olive oil, meat, and cheese.
4. HOTEL TOUR
MAY 14
• We visited the
Lungarno Hotel today
also.
• All the hotels were
beautiful!
5. Dievole Vineyard
MAY 15 Siena & San Gimignano
• We went on a guided tour of
the Dumo Museum.
• We went to Sienna, Italy to
Dievole vineyard where we
had lunch and wine tasting
.The lunch was amazing!
• We also visited the town of San
Gimignano which was a
beautiful small town. After we
toured the town we had a
dinner TrattoriaCasalinga
which was a wonderful meal.
6. Extra Virgin Olive oil
• We went to a Olive Oil lecture
today and then we had a few
hours to do whatever. We tasted
many different Olive Oil from the
Tuscany region. We sampled the
olive oil with bread
7. Developing Your
Signature Lecture
MAY 17
• We had a lecture about
restaurant management.
We also had a dinner at
Ganzo which is for the
students at Apicus
International School of
Hospitality to work at. The
dinner was great I had a
vegetarian option and
we had fried zucchini
flowers, and a jello like
dessert.
8. Wine Pairing Wine
Tasting
May 18
• We had a free day in the morning and I
went to sight see all over Florence.
• We then had wine and cheese at
PozzoDivino. I learned that the dryer
wine equals the highest alcohol content.
• We had dinner at Pizza man where we
had pizza and wine.
9. FREE DAY
May 19
• On my free day I
rested and went to
Hard Rock Café.
We had dinner at
Gusto PaninoCivaio.
10. Chocolate Tasting
May 20
• We went to Coop Supermarket
to taste chocolate. La Bottega
del Cioccolato di Andrea
Banchini was voted the number
one chocolatier in Italy.
• Coop San Donato was an
interesting supermarket it was
two floors and you had to pay to
rent a grocery cart.
• We also to San Michele aTorri
where we watched pasta being
made and got to bring some
home.
• We had dinner at Osteria Santo
Spirito where the dinner was
great!
11. PARMA TRIP
• We took a 2 ½ hour bus
trip to Parma, Italy.
• We toured the
Parmesan cheese
factory and Parma
ham factory.
• We went to Touch for
dinner which was a
wonderful dinner.
