Presentation of the exercise conducted by Joris Katkevicius, Matthias Borowski, Laura Saldanha and Adrià Garcia i Mateu as part of the curse on System Design for Sustainability. This course was part of the LeNS Project, an EU AsiaLink funded program for the dissemination of Product/Service-System Design for Sustainability lead by professor Carlo Vezzoli in the Politecnico di Milano in 2009

INDICATIONS: The Offering diagram is a way of representing all the functionalities of a System, around the core function. It is an image that describe synthetically what is offered by the developed concept. It integrate visual and written messages in order to describe the offer’s main characteristics. It contains: . the visualisation of the core function (main performance) provided by the system . the visualisation of the added value functionalities (following a radial pattern around the core function) . the visualisation of the subfunctionalities (describing the way the System functionalities will be delivered).
INDICATIONS: The system map support to the design process representation of the system actors’ interactions
INDICATIONS: FOR DRAFT CONCEPT TEXTS ARE SUFFICIENT (IMAGES ARE NOT NECESSARY) Story board describes during the time the interactions between the actors, and in particular the experience throught the user’s eyes. It is a sequence of static images associated with written texts which represents the (few) salient situations of the offer and its relative advantages. Background: synthetic and representative of the action’s context images. Actors: images underlined respect the background Texts: brief comments about what the actor does and why.
