George Washington was born in Virginia in 1789 and may have attended a local high school. He had interests in horses and dogs, enjoying a stallion and coon-hound as pets. Washington also liked pancakes, cherries, and fish to eat. He became president at age 57 and served two terms of four years each, earning the nickname "Father of his Country."
