 Technology provide each classroom with more
  interesting, diverse, and current learning materials.
 Technology connect students to experts in the real world
  and provide wide array of opportunities for expressing
  understanding through images, sounds and text.
 Technology offer educators effective ways to reach
  different types of learners.
 Technology leads to a higher degree of student
  motivation.
 Educators better prepare students for the future when
  using technology aimed at addressing each learning
  style.
DISADVANTAGES
 Upkeep   and maintenance expense.
 Connection issues
 If a child were to be functioning on a computer for a
  long period of time with incorrect positioning they
  can have health issues.
 Educators are not trained to use computer in a best
  possible way.
 Children can be exposed to Internet content that is
  not appropriate for their age level.

TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM

 Converse and collaborate with students from all
  over the world
 Publish students newsletters.

 Illustrate stories with clip arts, presentation and
  graphics.
 Take students on virtual field trips

 Ask students to research on topic using web.
INCORPORATING TECHNOLOGY IN THE MATH
CLASSROOM

 Organizing data through online tables and graphs.
 Use of different software programs to learn mathematics and
  prepare reports such as: Geometry drawing programs,
  spreadsheets and word processing programs.
 Encouraging students to create mathematical web quest.

 Use of interactive whiteboard.

 Use of internet to do research on mathematical topics.

Applying technology to school

  • 1. APPLYING TECHNOLOGY TO SCHOOL Presented by Aditi Joshi
  • 2. ADVANTAGES  Technology provide each classroom with more interesting, diverse, and current learning materials.  Technology connect students to experts in the real world and provide wide array of opportunities for expressing understanding through images, sounds and text.  Technology offer educators effective ways to reach different types of learners.  Technology leads to a higher degree of student motivation.  Educators better prepare students for the future when using technology aimed at addressing each learning style.
  • 3. DISADVANTAGES  Upkeep and maintenance expense.  Connection issues  If a child were to be functioning on a computer for a long period of time with incorrect positioning they can have health issues.  Educators are not trained to use computer in a best possible way.  Children can be exposed to Internet content that is not appropriate for their age level.
  • 4. ADVANTAGES OF INCORPORATING TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM  Converse and collaborate with students from all over the world  Publish students newsletters.  Illustrate stories with clip arts, presentation and graphics.  Take students on virtual field trips  Ask students to research on topic using web.

INCORPORATING TECHNOLOGY IN THE MATH CLASSROOM  Organizing data through online tables and graphs.  Use of different software programs to learn mathematics and prepare reports such as: Geometry drawing programs, spreadsheets and word processing programs.  Encouraging students to create mathematical web quest.  Use of interactive whiteboard.  Use of internet to do research on mathematical topics.
  • 6. INCORPORATING TECHNOLOGY IN THE SCIENCE CLASSROOM  Virtual tour of science museums  Performing online science experiments  Creative research projects using the internet for different science reports.  Online reading of science newspaper/magazines and activities.
