3. Engineering Resources
• Design & Development
Perhaps the most important stage of any project, ISM will design/engineer plans that are quality conscience and
economically feasible. With your sketch, blueprint or CAD file, our team can develop prototype tooling & products. In
some cases, the prototype tooling can be designed into production tooling saving both time and money. ISM is a full
service supplier with several in house capabilities and a network of capable partners.
• Design and development inputs
Inputs relating to product requirements are determined and documented according to the Design and Development
procedure. All inputs are reviewed for adequacy and completeness, and to resolve any ambiguous inputs. Inputs include:
Functional and performance requirements
Applicable statutory and regulatory requirements
Where applicable, information derived from previous similar designs
Other requirements essential for design and development
• Design and development outputs
Outputs of design and development are documented according to the Design and Development Procedure. They are
documented in a format that enables verification against the inputs, and are approved prior to release. Outputs:
Meet the input requirements
Provide appropriate information for purchasing, production and for service provision
Contain or reference product acceptance criteria
Specify the characteristics of the product that are essential for its safe and proper use.
4. Communications Resources
ISM is powered by an exclusive ERP software specifically designed for the
following areas:
Production
Inventory Control
Tooling & Maintenance
Purchasing / Receiving
Shipping
APQP
JIT
EDI
Outside Process
Gauge Calibration
Container Tracking
Q/A Heat Tracking
Bar-coding
Financials
5. Manufacturing Resources
• Manufacturing
Starting with the purchasing process through our shop floor manufacturing, quality is priority. A documented procedure is followed to
ensure that purchased product conforms to the specified purchase requirements. The procedure outlines the extent of control required
for suppliers. Suppliers are evaluated and selected based on their ability to supply product in accordance with requirements as
outlined in the procedure. Criteria for selection, evaluation and re-evaluation are documented in the procedure. Records of the
evaluation and any necessary actions are maintained as quality records.
ISM plans and carries out production and service provision under controlled conditions according to a documented procedure.
Controlled conditions include, as applicable:
The availability of information that describes the characteristics of the product
The availability of work instructions
The use of suitable equipment
The availability and use of monitoring and measuring devices
The implementation of monitoring and measurement
The implementation of release, delivery and post-delivery activities
6. Quality Resources
• Quality Certification
• ISO 9001:2008 Certified
• Identification and Traceability
ISM identifies the product throughout product realization according to the Identification and Traceability procedure. Product is
identified with respect to monitoring and measurement requirements.
Controls and records the unique identification of the product where ever traceability is a specified requirement
• Customer Property
ISM exercises care with customer property while it is under the organization's control or being used. A procedure outlines the
Identification, verification, protection and safeguarding of customer property provided for use. If any customer property is lost,
damaged or otherwise found to be unsuitable for use, this is reported to the customer and records maintained.
• Preservation of Product
• ISM preserves the conformity of product during internal processing and delivery to the intended destination per procedure. This
preservation includes identification, handling, packaging, storage and protection. Preservation also applies to the constituent parts of a
product.
• Continual Improvement
ISM continually improves the effectiveness of the quality management system through the use of our customers quality policies,
quality objectives, audit results, analysis of data, corrective and preventive actions and management review.
7. Joint Venture
A Micro-Transfer System simplifies the stamping process and What they do
saves your company money.
What we eliminate
Wasted material used for progressive carriers and stretch ribbons
Idle stations that are utilized only for die space
Unreliable part eject devices like an air blow off
Excessive use of nitrogen springs to form part
Problem stations like cut off and forming
Quality issues like pinch trims on flanges and drawn shapes
Access we give you
Reduction in material usage – As much as a 45%
Reduction in die build & tryout cost – An average of 25 %
Instant R.O.I. – The die build savings can pay for the system
What we do
Increased process flexibility – Form entire outside profile of the part
Simplified die timing – The timing of one station is not dependent
on every other
True material usage engineering – Establish material usage after
tryout is completed
In-Die assembly – More of the press stroke is available for your
special tooling to work
8. Joint Venture
You will find more profits when you compare the
differences.
The Transfer Die has:
0.20 Lbs. less material used per part
$0.09 reduction in part cost
Six less die stations
A 34” shorter die
40% Less die cost
20% Faster die build
Straightforward die tryout
Instant return on investment
