Art made fun in a two day printmaking workshop, given by Mitch Lyons at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. Artist and writer, Adair Heitmann, wrote all about it in her Creativity and Wellness blog. creativityandwellness.wordpress.com
3. Technique
• Artist Mitch Lyons developed a method to make
monoprints/monotypes by adding colored clay
slips, not ink, to a slab of wet clay (matrix).
• The clay slips are mixed with permanent
pigments to achieve brilliant colors.
• Textures and stencils are added.
• Damp paper is placed over the design and rolled
with a wooden rolling pin.
• The results are incredibly sophisticated.
