Honda engineers created ASIMO, a humanoid robot, to walk upright like humans. ASIMO's body is made of lightweight magnesium alloy and plastic covered. It is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery in its backpack. ASIMO can detect forces through sensors in its wrists to synchronize with humans. It uses stored walking patterns and posture control to walk, run, and maintain balance smoothly in any direction. ASIMO can also recognize voices, determine sound directions, and respond to faces and gestures.

Early models (E1, E2, E3) focused on developing
legs that could simulate the walk of a human.
The next series of models (E4, E5, E6)
were focused on walk stabilization and stair climbing.

ASIMO is very stable even when moving suddenly .

deceleration , stopping and turning are combined to achieve
smooth walking.

by ASIMO it self , and foot placement locations and turning
are carried out by the robot while walking smoothly
in any direction .

ASIMO uses posture control technology to proactively bend
or twist its torso to maintain balance and prevent foot
slipping while walking and running .

ASIMO microphones allow it to receive voice commands
and help it determine the direction of sounds.

1- recognize when its name is called, and turn to face
the source of the sound.

3- recognize sudden , usual sounds such as that
of a falling object or a collision and face in that direction.
