Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder. This mental condition can manifest itself in a variety of ways. The predominant difficulties associated with schizophrenia are related to a person's thinking, which is unusual or bizarre. Because the person's thinking is intermittently disordered, a person with schizophrenia may have a variety of behaviors that appear odd or strange to others. In addition, the person's speech is irrational or disjointed.

This is a brief presentation on two well-known theoretical orientations in mental health counseling practice, with a focus on the use of these approaches in the treatment of alcohol use disorder. The theoretical approaches of Alfred Adler and Carl Rogers to the psychological conceptualization of the disorder are discussed, together with a sketch of the general shape of the treatment program prescribed by each of these counseling theories. This presentation might be useful as an specific application of the Adlerian and Rogerian approaches to psychotherapeutic treatment, particularly within an undergraduate or lower-level graduate course in psychology, mental health counseling, or addiction counseling.

This presentation discusses two types of serious attachment problems that are often found in children who have experienced complex trauma and disorganized attachments with care providers. Children who spent early years in orphanages and children who experienced multiple care providers and complex trauma are at risk for these disorders. The topics covered are reactive attachment disorder (RAD) and the new diagnostic classification which is disinhibited social engagement disorder, which used to be part of RAD. Some children who appear to have RAD and DSED should be evaluated for other issues, such as autism and fetal alcohol effects.

Drug abuse represents a complex and multifaceted issue prevalent across societies globally. It involves the misuse of legal or illegal substances that alter the functioning of the brain, leading to detrimental effects on an individual's physical health, mental well-being, and social relationships. From the casual misuse of substances to the severe grip of addiction, drug abuse encompasses a wide spectrum of behaviors and consequences that profoundly impact individuals and communities. Types and Categories of Drugs: Drug abuse spans a broad array of substances, including but not limited to alcohol, cannabis, opioids, stimulants, hallucinogens, and prescription medications. Each category of drugs affects the brain and body in distinct ways, contributing to varying levels of dependence and health risks. Alcohol, for instance, is legal in many societies but is also one of the most commonly abused substances, leading to addiction and a myriad of health problems when consumed excessively. On the other hand, opioids like heroin or prescription painkillers can quickly lead to physical dependence and overdose fatalities. Causes and Risk Factors: The reasons behind drug abuse are multifaceted and can involve a combination of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors. Genetic predispositions, family history of substance abuse, trauma, stress, peer pressure, mental health disorders, and socioeconomic factors can all contribute to an individual's susceptibility to drug abuse. Additionally, availability and societal attitudes toward drugs play a significant role in influencing patterns of abuse. Effects of Drug Abuse: The effects of drug abuse extend far beyond the individual consuming the substance. Physically, drug abuse can lead to a range of health issues, including cardiovascular problems, liver damage, respiratory complications, infectious diseases from needle sharing, and neurological impairments. Mentally, drug abuse can exacerbate or trigger mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, and cognitive impairments. Socially and behaviorally, it can strain relationships, cause legal issues, financial strain, and impair an individual's ability to function at work or in academic settings. Impact on Society: Drug abuse poses significant challenges at a societal level. It contributes to crime rates, strains healthcare systems, leads to lost productivity, and imposes substantial economic burdens. Moreover, the societal stigma associated with drug abuse often hinders individuals from seeking help, exacerbating the problem further. Prevention and Treatment: Preventing drug abuse involves a multifaceted approach, including education, early intervention, addressing risk factors, and promoting healthy coping mechanisms. Treatment strategies vary and often include behavioral therapies, counseling, support groups, and, in some cases, medication-assisted therapies. The goal of treatment is not only to help individuals overcome their dep

Discover the Kisan Call Centre: Your Gateway to Agricultural Assistance KISAN CALL CENTRE In order to harness the potential of ICT in Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare launched the scheme “Kisan Call Centres” (KCCs) on January 21, 2004. Main aim of the scheme is to answer farmers’ queries on a telephone call in their own language. These call centres are working in 21 different locations in the country covering all the States and UTs. A countrywide common eleven digit Toll Free Number 1800-180-1551 has been allotted for Kisan Call Centre. This number is accessible through mobile phones and landlines of all telecom networks including private service providers. Replies to the farmers’ queries are given in 22 local languages. Kisan Call Centre services are available from 6.00 AM to 10.00 PM on all seven days of the week at each KCC location. Kisan Call Centre agents known as Farm Tele Advisors (FTAs), who are graduate or above (i.e. PG or Doctorate) in Agriculture or allied sectors (Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Poultry, Bee-Keeping, Sericulture, Aquaculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Marketing, Bio-Technology, Home Science, etc.) and possess excellent communication skills in respective local language. Queries which cannot be answered by FTAs are transferred to higher level experts. These experts are Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs) of State Departments of Agriculture (SDAs), ICAR Institutes, KVKs and State Agricultural Universities (SAUs). A Kisan Knowledge Management System (KKMS) has been developed to capture all the details of the caller and sending gist of answer given through SMS. KKMS has its independent website : http://dackkms.gov.in. The KCC, FTAs working at various KCC locations throughout the country have access to this website through their specific IDs and password provided to them. Welcome to the Kisan Call Centre - your one-stop destination for agricultural assistance and support. With dedicated team of experts and cutting-edge technology, we're here to revolutionize the way farmers access information and guidance. In this powerpoint, we delve into the world of the Kisan Call Centre, exploring how it functions, the services it offers, and the impact it has on farmers across the nation. From real-time advisory services to multilingual support, we'll uncover the key features that make the Kisan Call Centre an indispensable resource for farmers of all backgrounds. Join us as we showcase the achievements of the Kisan Call Centre, from its enhanced farmer outreach to its empowerment of women farmers.
