It was not an achievement in monetary sense but an achievement, which saved the company from a potential lawsuit.
Customer was Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) of India. There was fire in one of ONGC’s offshore oil
producing platform due to a valve manufactured by FMC Singapore. This valve was inspected by my quality team and
duly certified by (signed) me. Fire tested was done in our Texas facility. After rigorous investigation, we satisfied our
customer that due to a faulty installation (did not follow the proper installation procedure) procedure by its field
engineers, the rig caught fire. It was my duty to perform, check and certify all those Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)
before shipping it out to the customer. Because I followed the process, procedures and maintained all the records as a
Quality Assurance Engineer, I was able to save my company from a potential lawsuit.
There are other instances, which helped my company to save money and increased its productivities. I will mention
those if I am shortlisted for a possible interview
