This document discusses how technology can be used to improve reading instruction and engagement for digital native students. It outlines how multimedia technologies can address the multiple intelligences identified by Howard Gardner and describes various ways technology can help teach the five crucial components of reading identified by the National Reading Panel: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.
