Introduction
The first opening sequence I have chosen analyse is psycho. Which was made in the 1960s this is a
3minute clip of someone who is being killed in different angles and shots. It is a thriller film. The
target audience is adults. The genre is Horror, thriller crime. The age rating is 15 years.
I have chosen to analyse this because this because it has many different angles and shots used so
will be interesting to talk and write about.
In my analysis I will look at the way that the camerawork is used and how I will add this to my work. I
will also see how the camerawork creates emotion to the audience and the actors.
Analysis
In this scene an
extreme close up of
the mouth is used.
The sound used here is a screeching plea for help. This
is done to show the emotion of the character and to
show how serious it is.
The camerawork used here is an extreme close up to
focus on the characters sense of panic leaving the
audience not knowing what is happening.
The sound used here as well is a background fast paced
booming noise. This is done to make the audiences
hearts racing.
I this scene a mid-shot
is used.
The sound used here is the noise of the shower calm
and fast.
The camerawork Is used here is mid shot this is done
to make sure that the audience knows that the
character is paying full attention to the shower.

The sound used here is a slow sort of breaking down
noise. This is done to fit the death scene.
The camerawork here used here is a close up this is
done to show the final emotion of the character and
show that there’s no life.
