NewsHour Past Started in 2007 when Aaron Adler was working in an orphanage in the forest region of Ghana Aaron invited the older children in the orphanage to watch the news with him and other volunteers, and then asked them to talk about it To ensure participation, he had to create a safe, accepting, and casual environment i.e. Adults help steer the conversation, but don’t interject their opinions! www.teachonthebeach.org
