A Little Bit About Mark
Madl is one of the rising top riders in ATV motocross. Born
and raised in Kathleen FL, Madl started riding quads with
family and friends. At the young age of 13, Madl started
racing the AMA National series in the Youth Production class
(300cc class ages 13-15). With the help of his family, Madl
was able to clench the 2009 Youth Production Championship
and the AMA Youth Rider of the year title. Madl was turning
16 in the off season which would allow him to ride a 450cc
quad in the amateur classes. Madl made a bold decision at
this point to move straight from the Youth class to the ranks of
the Pro-Am classes. Riding with the likes of the some of the
now seasoned Pros, Madl was able to finish in the top 10 in 4
races giving Madl the needed experience to throw down the
gauntlet in 2011.
The following season in 2011 Madl signed onto the Blue Rok
Race Team. After providing team Blue Rok with their very first
win in the Pro-Am classes, Madl was able to head to the op
of the pack in champions points. Madl found himself on the Sight Lap: Back

The return to Budd's Creek MX is upon us and the anticipation of it all has the ATV racing world excited to return to this world famous
venue. It has been a few years since The AMA ATV MX National Championship presented by DWT has graced the gates of Budds
Creek and the racing is expected to be the best of the season so far.
This event takes the place of the Danville, VA round at Birch Creek but will still be hosted by the Birch Creek Bunch. Carl Reynolds,
Ken Farrell and all will be on hand promoting and running the event as normal just in a different location this year.
The economy has taken its toll on a number of rider's race budgets over the last few years and we have seen a slight slip in some of
the competition that travels out of the North East. The good thing about this venue and Unadilla is that we will have the opportunity

to see some of the names from the past each trying to make some small mark on the national series.
I spoke with 2-Time AMA ATV Pro Champion Dustin Wimmer before the season started and he stated that this is one that he had
planned to attend. That should mix things up in the pro class some. I have heard that AMA ATV Pro Champion Josh Creamer will be in
attendance this weekend but not racing. Creamer had a self-described lack luster appearance in Alabama that may have frustrated him

Moose Racing and Parts Unlimited will host a dinner on Friday evening after practice for racers and their families. Everyone is invited
and there should be enough food to feed around 500 or so. So come ready to get your grub on and enjoy some bread breaking with
pro-class debut off as strong as his 2011 Pro-Am season.

Also a special treat this week I feel is to watch the Women Class on Saturday. This class has just gotten interesting. Michelle Natalie

of the Women Class" referring to her size. She is a tall girl but is also very fast, so she may be more right than she realizes. Cheetham
battled both Byrd and Natalie in moto 1 at round 3 but suffered from a blown out hub in moto 2. I for one cannot wait to see the gate
drop in this one.

A little more than a week from now we will be headed to Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut Illinois. An extra week off with the Easter Holiday
last weekend has been a blessing in a number of ways for folks as the extra time may have let the spring storms that have been
plaguing the United States the last week or so run their course. The time has also allowed for riders to be better prepared after the
clean-up from Budds Creek a couple of weeks ago.

As we look ahead to 5 round of the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship presented by DWT we see that preparations are well
underway for the arrival of America's premier ATV Motocross championship. The folks at Moto Armory are having an open house from
5pm to 7pm on Thursday leading into the ATV Showdown at Sunset Ridge.
