This flyer was created on April 27, 2012 and the game was widely publicized on Facebook and the public website. The game was originally scheduled to be played on Friday, May 3, 2012 but was rescheduled because of National SAT tests that were scheduled for the morning of Saturday, May 4, 2012. The game was never played because the coach of the York team objected to the game because he was said that he was scheduled to work on that Saturday despite the fact that he had previously approved the game to be played on Friday, May 3, 2012. The coach complained over the rescheduling of the game to Richard Blovad, Hampton Roads Chapter of US Lacrosse, Boy's High School Director who reportedly advised that the game could not be played. Blovad is no longer the Boy's High School Commissioner for HRLax. HRLax was a pilot for the recently launched Goldstick Program by US Lacrosse After spending the last 18 months in development, US Lacrosse’s Gold Stick Program is being unveiled to the full membership this month. The program seeks to provide the best experience possible for youth lacrosse players by outlining the best practices that should be incorporated by quality youth lacrosse programs. These best practices are built on seven standards: Adherence to youth rules and age guidelines A well-developed league administration Policies for safety and risk management A commitment to player safety and sportsmanship Having US Lacrosse screened, trained and certified coaches Using US Lacrosse trained and certified officials Valid US Lacrosse membership for all participants
