Sewer problems can be caused by root intrusions. Tree roots can grow close by sewer lines and if they are not handled in a timely manner, they can cause a pipe to shatter, sewer pipe crumbling or other sewer issues. Tree roots are usually the prime suspect when it comes to sewer damage, with thousands of feet of roots constantly seeking moisture and often finding it in your sewer line. Older, sewer pipes are most vulnerable to this problem.
