High school’s student in MDCPS
This lesson is created for high school students who may be interested in enrolling in a distance education course at the Miami-Dade Virtual School  The lesson is created to prepare high school students for the successful participation at the school Miami-Dade Virtual School  Flexibility is offered unlike the face to face courses    Lesson Overview
1. The learner will be able to define what is meant by the phrase "Virtual School" and have a concept of how Miami-Dade Virtual School works2. The learner will complete a unit on how to contact a teacher and ask for assistance, as well as the procedures of enrolling in a course3. The learner will be able to describe some of the methods of instruction and technologies used to deliver instruction by the school4. The learner will complete the evaluation to review the material presented Learner Goals

They will be taking the online course on their own time and at various:  Web pages , text and graphics. Use of web pages and graphics the lesson could be made simple All students only need a computer with Internet connection Proposed Media and Rationale
To successfully navigate the lesson, a participant needs only to understand how to click on links, use the back button, and send and receive email  The course content is presented through text and images Cont…
1. Reading the introduction,      information, viewing the       images posted and      interacting with the      course website (10 min) 2. A short quiz of 3 questions       to access understanding of        material presented (3 min) 3. A course evaluation  Activities
The students have approximately 15   minutes to navigate through the course.                  Duration
 Quiz about lesson          The students answer the questions: What did you learn about point of view?   How did this affect your online class?   How did technology affect the time period and event studied?
Course evaluation The lesson increased my interest in the MDVS?  The lesson contributed to my understanding of used technologies at the school?  Overall, the course and instructor met my expectations?  Please list then describe any positive and/or negative factors about the course  Do you have any suggestions for improving the course?
