Title 1 provides districts with resources to improve instruction and academic achievement of children from high-poverty backgrounds.
Title 1 ensures that these children have the same opportunity as their peers to meet challenging state academic standards and
assessments. Districts and schools must use Title 1 grant funds for activities that scientifically based research suggests will be most
effective in helping all students meet state academic standards.
