Post: Local Manager (Business Development and PR duties inclusive)
Duties:
 As a startup I worked in various capacity including business development, website tester, public
relations person, researcher and administrator.
 Build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business
relationships.
 Create awareness of the products and services of the company online and off line.
 Handled the company’s social media platform which include Facebook, Twitter and linkedin
 Make use of various forms of media and communication to build, maintain and manage the
reputation of the company.
 Define target audiences in order to establish and maintain client base.
 Write, edit and arrange production of print materials such as newsletters, proposals, pamphlets
and brochures of company’s product and services.
 Research, writing and oversee distribution of press releases to targeted media.
 Formulate marketing plan and design advert materials to boost awareness of the use of the
company’s services.
 Review of products and services and collaborate with technical team to resolve any complaint or
observations.
 Work with the IT department to maintain and update information on the company’s website.
 Respond to inquiries; arrange interviews with journalists and other interested parties.
 Organize meetups, seminars and workshop for our various freelance workers.
 Organise promotional events such as press conferences, showcase, exhibitions, tours and visits
 Chair conferences and meetings with our clients to intimate them with happenings in the
company in terms of products, services and policies.
 Locate and propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and
exploring opportunities.
 Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different
requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
 Provide senior management with feedback and relevant management information.
Key Achievements:
 The introduction, development and marketing of an online outsourcing solution which placed the
company 45% up the ladder in the Information Technology sector in Nigeria when it comes to
business development for small and medium size enterprise.
 Organizing the Showcase of the Skillsmix solution at an innovation hub in Lagos, Nigeria.
Attendance for the program was 40% over the initial number of guests expected increasing the
visibility of the company.
 Organized the launch of the first real estate app in Nigeria on behalf of Lamudi Nigeria. Over 12
journalists and reporters attended the event with reports of the event in over 5 media houses
including 2 that covers Africa.
 Arranging partnership for Easy Taxi and Hellofood during the African Fashion week. This was a
first of its kind in Nigeria and saw an audience over 1,000 prominent individuals during the
catwalk and the charity gala. This placed Easy Taxi and Hellofood 70% up the ladder in terms of
new ventures and increased their visibility by 67%.
