Visiongain: Can you outline Greenwich’s current activity within the military aircraft MRO market?
Jim Meir: Greenwich AeroGroup and its subsidiaries (Aero Precision, Western Aircraft, DAC
International, Professional Aircraft Accessories, Professional Aviation Associates, and Summit
Aviation) are well positioned to meet the demands of the military’s growing need for quality MRO
support. Our MRO capabilities include MRO facilities (Summit and Western), logistics and supply
chain (Aero Precision and Professional Aviation Associates), avionics (DAC International),
Component Repair and Overhaul (CR&O) (Professional Aircraft Accessories) and manufacturing
(Summit Aviation).
Visiongain: What aspects of the market are attractive to a company like Greenwich AeroGroup?
Jim Meir: We support small to large military fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Our primary focus is on
airframes, interior and avionics, and with partnerships with engine service providers we offer a
complete MRO/logistics solution. Our sweet spot is small to medium sized turbine powered fixed
wing aircraft and small to large rotary wing aircraft. Our long history of supporting General and
Business Aviation aircraft provides us with a solid experience base for working on similarly sized
military aircraft.
Visiongain: Who are your competitors in the military aircraft MRO market?
Jim Meir: As mentioned above, the OEMs and the U.S. Government itself poses the biggest
completive threat to companies like Greenwich AeroGroup primarily because they are making the
decisions in many cases whether to offload or in-source. One of the most significant challenges
faced by companies like ours is the availability of OEM Intellectual Property (IP). In many cases,

In 2006, the Saudi government signed an overall contract worth
$31.05bn, with BAE Systems for the supply of 72 Eurofighter
Typhoon aircraft under the Al-Salam (Peace) programme. As of early
2012, Saudi Arabia had taken delivery of the first 24 Typhoons. Such
a programme will continue to see MRO and support spending drive
the Saudi Arabian MRO market.

contract to provide engineering support for Eurofighter Typhoon jets
in Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain.
This contract forms part of an overall Eurofighter programme for the

forecast period and will require MRO services as the feet increases
and the older systems remain.
