(Focus on the eyes – more dramatic)
My group and I decided to use an extreme close up of our artist eyes.
This was to help emphasise the fact that she is smiling which is shown
visibly and clearly through the eyes. This was to add a dramatic feel so
the emotion which is meant to be suggested clearly is being conveyed to
the audience.

Quick cut
(This is to focus on quick cuts which are a code and convention.)
The second, third and fourth shot is a continuation of the first shot but more
developed. Throughout the video you have different shots selling the artist with close-
ups being dominate and essential.
The second shot is an extreme close up of the mouth
The third shot is a close up of the face and the fourth shot is an medium shot showing
her looking at a photo album this reflects on the narrative at the photo can be seen as
foreshadowing the up and coming storyline of the music video.
Camera effect: fade accompanied by lighting effects which are black and red which has
the connotations of danger, fear, blood. This has an contrast with the previous happy
emotion.
4. Shot five

The fifth shot will go back to the narrative. There will be a
long shot reflecting the mise- en scene; this shot will be
heavily focused on the location which is a bathroom. For the
female fans, when it comes to representation you could say
the bathroom and mirrors are symbolic to change within
appearance. So there will be several cuts of the bathroom to
reflect that idea.
5. Shot Six, Seven and eight

The sixth, seventh and eighth shot will be quick cuts
The sixth shot: extreme close up

The eight: long shot
The cuts will show the audience the mise – en scene and
introduce more of the narrative.

The ninth and tenth shot will then be of our artist with all her cloths on go into a bath
full on water this will be in close up and then medium shot so we can focus on her face
as well as her body position. This is not to play around with the idea of voyeurism but
to suggest a change mental state not to the extent of insanity but a different
framework of thinking which reflects the change in character. This was to engage the
audience.
The camera work will be a pan followed by a camera effect which will be another fade.
transition will then have something added to it for instance combined with the colour
red this will suggest to the audience that there is a change occurring and it is in
contrast to the happy emotion in the earlier shots.
7. Shot eleven and twelve
Camera Shots
CU = close-up
LS = long shot

The eleventh and twelfth shot is an extreme close up of her face
underwater in the tub and a long shot of her fully clothed body in the
bath tub.
There is a demand on the part of the record company for lots of close-
ups of the main artist/vocalist. The audience will feel they have a closer
to the connection and the fact she is in the bath tub where you are
normally alone and in private may give them a feel of intimacy with the
artist as they are invading her personal space.
8. Shot thirteen and fourteen
Camera Shots
ECU = extreme close-up
CU = close-up

The thirteenth shot is a an extreme close up of her putting on
her make up, but the makeup she is putting in is more
extreme than what you would casually wear. This is
emphasized by the extreme close u as it is more vivid and
dramatic.
The thirteenth shot is followed by the fourteenth shot which
is also an extreme close up but of the lips.
9. Shot fifteen
Camera Shot
LS = long shot

Fifteenth shot is an establishing shot which is a long shot of
an alley way. The long shot is used to establish the mise- en
scene which is heavily focused on the location. The
composition used in the framework was to help introduce the
location but also to suggest that the artist is approaching this
location hence why she isn’t in focus but the alley way is
clearly seen.
10. Shot sixteen and seventeen.
Camera Shots
MS = medium shot

The sixteenth and seventeenth shot are a medium
shots of her in a white dress in contrast to the
emotions she is conveying which is more lonesome.
This is then followed by a close up which helps
emphasise her upset and distraught emotions this
helps to develop the narrative.
11. Shot eighteen and nineteen.

The eighteenth shot is a long shot which allows us to see the mise-
en scene of her clothing along with the location. But now in the shot
these abstract figures appear with mask on to make the music video
more creative and interesting. They are symbolic to her overflowing
emotions.
The nineteenth shot takes the eighteenth shot further however at a
different angle to make the shot more interesting for the audience.
12. Shot Twenty.

The twentieth shot is the last shot there is a
