Valeo Service Product Manager Job Description
1. Product Manager
Mission: Deliver the Turnover and Gross Margin objectives of your given product portfolio in your
territories, thanks to a profound understanding of the aftermarket on your product line(s) and a
close business support of Valeo Service divisions. You address this market with OE products,
adaptables, aftermarket innovations and service solutions, in order to ensure profitable growth in
both the OES and IAM markets.
Responsibilities:
I. Market and Strategy
• You drive market analysis to develop market expertise and address
customers’ expectations and users’ needs.
• You characterize your competitive market environment and propose
the best 4P strategy to outperform competitors
• You define the 3 years strategy and the Product and Service
Program (PSP) for the product portfolio for the year to come.
• You ensure your needs are taken in account in your suppliers’ TDP,
both from internal and external suppliers, to leverage each supplier
strengths to meet your business objective.
II. Business
• You define OES and IAM budget guidelines and action plans for the
year to come in relation with your strategy.
• You track and challenge forecasts, sales and margin of each
Division. You ensure consistency with budget and you initiate
corrective action where appropriate.
• You organize frequent aftermarket reviews, addressing all the issues
conditioning success.
• You prepare the answer to tenders, defining the best range profile,
choice of technology and packaging, make or buy strategy based on
analyses of suppliers’ options versus competitive offer.
III. Range and Services
• You are responsible for car park coverage and you constantly
analyze your products/brands/technology/price segment gaps in
order to define the best range and products for IAM/OES. You are
accountable for increasing the competitive range coverage of your
portfolio by supporting development of adaptable.
• You manage product life cycles with a focus on Time-To-Market and
aftermarket innovation.
• You set pricing guidelines and floor prices and you validate
Divisions' price list revision and offer competitiveness in conjunction
with Pricing manager and according to VS price validation policy.
• You are responsible for technical services and packaging added
value to product offer.
• You are responsible for proposing the best branding and channel
management strategy for your territories to VS marketing director.
IV. Communication and catalogue
• You manage your marketing promotion budget and you follow your
expenses to meet your outside expenses Target.
• You keep efficient market & sales presenters and you contribute to
most complex offers presentation.
• You are responsible for accurate database and for printed and
electronic catalogues’ quality.
• You develop marketing materials, packaging, catalogues and
support divisions with merchandising concepts and POS
• You support the participation of IAM and OES in trade shows
