Services and more generally a Database Specialist

• An Oracle University Server Products Instructor for 6 years and an Oracle
Advanced Technologies Services (ATS) Consultant
• Don worked with HP/Polyserve as the Chief Oracle Customer facing DB
specialist for all Oracle Products for 5 years
• Don is a Co-Creator of the Oracle Certified Master Practicum in 2002 and
Awarded the OCM in 2002

Eric (@ArchitectEric) has been a driving force from both the
technical and leadership perspective behind the successful efforts
to virtualize infrastructure for the Oracle environments within
BCBS Michigan

Brent Dunington – University of British Columbia
Brent is the Systems Architect for the University of
British Columbia
• Brent’s main focus at UBC is to research, design & deploy software/hardware
solutions to meet the business requirements of UBC
• Over a 15 year career Brent has worked with Rogers Cable, Delta Cable,
Trader.com & Teligence Communication
• Brent has been implementing VMware solutions for a decade with experience
stretching back to GSX

Brian Pearson – General Electric Appliances & Lightning
Brian is the Principal Strategist & Director of Platform
Infrastructure for GE Home & Business Solutions in Louisville,
Kentucky
• Brian joined GE Appliances in 1997 as a member of the IMLP (Information
Management Leadership Program) after receiving his Computer Engineering
degree
• Brian subsequently held various roles ranging from Application Architect to a
variety of team leadership roles spanning across business functions
• Prior to his current role, Brian held the position of the Global Application
Infrastructure leader for the GE Appliances & Lighting business managing an
environment of more than 1200 applications
• His organization is responsible for providing shared enterprise services for the
Appliances and Lighting divisions of General Electric
• Services include storage, compute, middleware, IT service Management,
monitoring and predictive analysis

Scott Haverfield – Idaho Supreme Court
Scott is the Information Technology Manager of the State of Idaho
Supreme Court
• Scott oversees hardware and software support throughout Idaho’s 44 counties,
nearly 1000 end users and 50 remote sites
• The infrastructure includes Windows and Linux (specifically Linux Unbreakable),
45 Oracle 11gR2 databases, Exchange 2010, Dell PowerEdge, Cisco UCS, EMC
Clarion and VNX SAN’s
• Scott services all of the courts across Idaho to include multiple magistrate and
district courts in each county, the Court of Appeals and Idaho's Supreme Court
• With the help of the Yucca Group Scott has implemented an innovative system
that uses vSphere to optimize some of the most advanced features of Oracle and
provides access to critical court data through the state
