ensure that everyone can speak, that no one talks
for too long and that the Union’s policies are
upheld

speaking in favour of and against them
They have a limited amount of time

5. Sometimes people want to add or
remove sections from proposals…
You can do this by submitting an amendment to Becca
This will be presented to everyone at the meeting
who will then vote on whether or not to accept it

6. When you vote, you have three choices;
Vote in favour – if you agree with the proposal
Vote against – if you disagree with the proposal
Abstain from voting – if you don’t want to vote for or against
You vote by raising your hand when asked by Becca. She will count the
votes to decide whether the proposal is accepted or rejected
