Remote Access to the Tyndale Library Using Windows Vista

1. Accessing Online Journals from Home via Vista

2. Click Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet

3. Click: Network and Sharing Center > (left hand side) Set up a connection or network

4. Scroll down and select: “Connect to a workplace”

5. Select: “Use my Internet connection (VPN)”

6. Select: “I’ll set up an Internet connection later”

7. Type: students.tyndale.ca (for Internet address), Tyndale VPN (for Destination name) Check: “Don’t connect now”

8. Type: your username and password Check: “Remember this password”

9. Click Close

10. You have completed the initial setup. To connect, right-click “Tyndale VPN” > Connect

11. Ensure user name and password is entered, click Connect You now have access to the library’s online journal databases!

12. Open up any browser to: http://cat.tyndale.ca
