Kristen Lam of kristenglam
Kristen Lam, 22, is a young blogger from Queens, New York who
has done quite a bit since starting her blog kristenglam.
Before starting kristenglam, Lam was just an employee at Bollare,
a fashion lifestyle public relations firm. She was already managing
her client’s blogs and social media outlets when it was
recommended that she start a blog of her own. Together with a co-
worker, they started their own respective blogs, each helping the
other take photos. “I wouldn’t keep up with it without him,” said
Lam. At first the blog was something she did for fun but when
clients and other people from magazines started recognizing her,
that’s when she thought she should take it a little more seriously.
Since starting her blog, opportunities have come forth giving Lam
some interesting life experiences. Lam had been featured on Teen
Vogue’s website three times. The first experience was a bedroom
tour and the other two were beauty features. When asked about the
experience, Lam stated that she “wasn’t used to wearing that much
make-up.” Other opportunities have included working with the
shoe brand Sam Edelman, developing authentic friendships and
meeting people from around the nation.
When she isn’t working or blogging, Lam enjoys watching sports,
taking road trips and having “chill days”. A trendy bargain hunter
who also enjoys thrifting, Lam’s favorite places to shop are H&M
and Forever21. When looking for pieces, Lam looks for something
that has interesting patterns and fits well, as opposed to when she
used to buy oversized sweaters when younger.
On her advice to people who want to be in her shoes Lam says,
“Don’t take it too seriously and have fun with it.”
