The Gladrags Legacy Chapter 10- Can you feel the love tonight? Or, In Which our plucky young heirs get caught up in all things plotty. O HaiThar! This is the COLLEGE CHAPTER. Which means I’m getting serious about this generation. Good News Everyone, I’m dipping my toe in the waters of proper storytelling and running away shrieking because it’s not the right temperature. So please don’t blame me if this goes horribly horriblywrong. Let’s get down to business.
*snigger* “Shaddup.”
That’s much better. I figured I’d actually give you the information I’ve been holding back on all these chapters. Zazu is 2/7/4/6/9, and a Pleasure sim with a secondary aspiration of Knowledge. She’s studying Psychology.
Shenzi is 2/9/4/5/8, and a Popularity sim with a secondary aspiration of Pleasure. She’s studying Biology.
Now he’s grown up, I have come to realise that Simba is actually rather attractive. I mean, SWOON! Anyway, he’s 2/9/6/5/9, and a Romance sim with a secondary aspiration of Popularity. He’s also studying Biology.
Timon is 2/9/6/5/9, and a Fortune sim with a secondary aspiration of Family. And yes, that is what she’s wearing. Wait till you see the bottom half!
BAM. Coming at ya like a wet flannel!
And of course, our favourite supporting cast are back. Misa and Takki are here! YAY! (Also, Misa is studying Maths. MISA?!) But unfortunately it also means Simba’s gold-digging girlfriend Kimberley is also here. BOO! But do not despair! Because we still have...
Pumbaa. Pumbaa is probably one of my favourite sims I’ve ever made. I mean, look at that outfit, that hair, that makeup. She’s just amazing!
The next three slides prove that sometimes you don’t need captions to pictures. They’re just freakin’ funny.
These happened straight after each other- and whilst I was trying to take Timon and Pumbaa out to a very special shoppe...
“Timon, what is this place?” Pumbaa looked around at the tarot decks and dream catchers. “This,” Timon said in a triumphant voice. “Is a shoppe.” “I know it’s a shop, yeah, but-” “Not a shop, a shoppe! Two ps and an e!” “...Right. So why are we at this shoppe?” “Because I just found out about it and it stocks the most amazing stuff!” “What, like Occult stuff?”
“Yeah! I read about it in the Quibbler, this shop was advertised in it.” she said in a matter of fact way, as if that it was in the Quibbler was reason enough to go. “Ok then. So what are you going to get?” “Pumbaa PumbaaPumbaa,” Timon sighed, exasperated. “You can’t just know what you want, you have to browse!” “ Ohhh! Right! Thank God I have you around Timon, I don’t know what I’d do !” “That’s right. C’mon, let’s look!”
Timon gazed at the crystal balls and occult books, in awe and amazement. She traced the pattern on the front of Unfogging the Future by Cassandra Vablatsky. It was just... Incredible.
“Timon! We’ve got to get back in time for class! What’re you gonna get?” “... Everything!” “What?!” “I’ve been saving up for something, I wasn’t sure what, but now I know!” She paid, feeling incredibly satisfied. She would become a seer, and study the occult, or die trying. Hopefully not literally.
Meanwhile, Simba and Kimberley were being far less innocent. You know what the fireworks mean folks!
Simba watched Kimberley sleep, softly stroking her hand. He noticed every freckle on her face, the cute little snores she made whilst she slumbered, the way she curled up into a ball in bed. He wanted to lie there forever. To be with her forever. That was when he realised that he didn’t want to be a romance sim anymore.
As quietly as possible, Simba crept out onto the patio area. Time to spend some of my aspiration points methinks. Moments later he had himself a way of showing his commitment to her. He’d change his aspiration... He placed his head inside the machine. Blue lights flashed brightly in Simba’s eyes, but even when he closed them he could feel them radiating and burning his retinas. He finally wrenched his head out of the machine, blinking furiously. He could still see the lights with his eyes closed and he could distinctly smell burning hair, but it didn’t matter. All he could think about was how much he wanted to marry Kimberley, to have beautiful children and grandchildren...
Though he still kept some of his old, romance sim qualities. Little did he know, Misa had plans. Lots of plans. “YAY! Simba loves me! MISA WINS!” Erm, Misa, he’s with Ki- “Kimberley’s horrible. He’ll soon realise what he’s missing... Although I could help it along...” Misa, don’t interfere! I don’t like her either but- “La LaLaLaLa! Misa and Simba, Misa and Simba!” She walked away. Ugh.
“Mmmm, Pancakes. Yummy!” Zazu’s eyes lit up at the sight of the food, and she licked her lips. She was just about to bite into them when she heard a voice. “Um, Do you mind if I sit here?” The guy had pale blue eyes, and golden brown hair. He was thin, but had a freckly face and slightly chubby cheeks. He smiled nervously. “Sure.” she said. He sat down. “I’m Andy.” “Zazu.” “That’s a cool name. I wish mine was like that!” “Yeah. Legacy naming scheme, you know how it is.”
The cafeteria worker put a plate of pancakes down in front of him. “Mmmmmm...” he said, staring as if hypnotised at the food. “So you’re a legacy heir? Cool.” “Well, yeah. But I don’t think I’m going to win.” “Awww, don’t be so hard on yourself!” He smiled again, and Zazu was surprised to find that her heart fluttered a little. “So,” said Andy. “Erm, I, um- what I mean is, do you want to hang out after the, um, pancakes?” “Yeah, sure!” Her reply came out much more enthusiastic than she had intended. “Great. So, what music do you like?” “Oh, a mix really. Not really anything that you can dance to, I grew up in a house of smustlers but they were all much better than me.”
“I’m not much of a dancer either. But that doesn’t mean I don’t try!” He imitated himself in the chair, waving his arms around wildly. Zazu couldn’t restrain a laugh. “Hehe, yeah, I could use a bit of practice. Maybe if I had someone to dance with...” But he trailed off, and blushed furiously. “I’m sure you’ll find someone...” then Zazu blushed too. They ate their pancakes, not speaking much until they had both cleaned their plates. “So, um, do you want to...” “Hang out?” “Yeah...” “Sure.” They walked upstairs to an empty room.
“That’s a nice cardigan you’re wearing...” Andy blushed again. That was a stupid thing to say, you moron he thought. “That sounded stupid.” Zazu laughed again. “No, I think it’s nice of you! I like your necklace.” “What, this old thing?” he held up a necklace with a wooden fang on it. “I made it. I’m kinda good with a chisel.” “Wow! That’s so cool!” “I’ll make you something if you like.” “That’d be great.” They stood in awkward silence for a while, both oddly aware of themselves and how empty the room was. “That necklace... It’s, erm, it’s really impressive...”
He sheepishly placed his hand on the back of his head. “It was nothing, really.” *This was completely real, a crazy old man came in and yelled at Zazu whilst they were talking.* *He then proceeded to wave at Andy then set off a sprinkler. It’s so fun when they do the work for you* They were completely unaware of the old man’s presence, engrossed in conversation. When he eventually left they talked for hours about music, the environment, the paranormal and literature. They were BFs by the end of the conversation!
“I don’t get to talk like this to anyone else!” Zazu’s eyes were bright. “Me neither.” “Yeah. I mean, Shenzi and Timon are too busy being, well, peppy, and I used to talk about it to Simba but now he only talks to his girlfriend.” Andy tickled her. “Well it’s good we have each other then!” Zazu squealed, and fell into hysterical laughter. “Stop it Andy!” “Make me.” He smiled, only stopping when she was on the floor, crying with laughter.
“Ok, Ok, I’ll help you up!” He pulled her up by her hand, but she was standing too close to him. They paused for a moment, gazing at each other, before Andy broke their intent staring match. “Did that hurt? Sorry, I didn’t mean to be so enthusiastic.” “It’s ok.” “Do you want me to give you a back rub?” He blushed. “I’m very good.” “Um... Ok.” She turned around, if only so he couldn’t see her flushing red. He rubbed her back softly, and neither of them spoke, trying to ignore the squirming feeling in their stomachs.
“Ready to go babe?” Simba was taking Kimberley out for the evening, for dinner and dancing at a club. “Yeah.” She walked over to him, and gave him a huge hug. “I love this relationship.” “... I love you too!” He cried. “C’mon then!” Kimberley skipped out of the dorm. “Where’re you taking me!” she cried back to him. “Somewhere special.” He whispered to himself. (Little did he know, Misa was standing round the corner with a joy buzzer meant for Kimberley- completely autonomous. I love my sims!)
Dance music blared loudly and strobe lights lit up the dance floor. “You look really pretty tonight!” Simba yelled. “What?!” Kimberley gestured at her ear. “I said, you look really pretty!” “WHAT?!” “YOU LOOK REALLY PRETTY!” “Oh! Thanks!” “What?!” “Forget it!” This place meant a lot to Simba. His father Dunstan had taken Caractacus here to propose... And he was about to do the same.
Simba could hear his heartbeat in his head. He fidgeted with his trousers, tapping his foot to the beat he could vaguely hear from downstairs. Stop it, he said. She’ll catch on. “I have been waiting for my menu for 5 minutes!” Kimberley's voice was soft with anger. “I apologise madam, but we do have a large party in tonight.” “Get it. NOW!” She stood up abruptly and the waiter ran off, petrified. She sat back down, looking calmer and she shot Simba a dazzling smile. My angel...
He shuffled himself over to her side of the table, and placed his hand on hers. “Kimberley,” Simba’s voice was trembling. “We’ve been together for a long time now, since we were at school... And it’s been the best time of my life.” “It has been great hasn’t it? All those fun times...” “Well, erm, I remember everything about the first time we met. I remember it was 10:02, and I was at the bar, and the moment I saw you I knew I wanted to be with you. I’m a totally different person when I’m with you! And when I’m not with you all I think about is what you’re doing, and whether you’re thinking about me.”
“So,” his voice quivered again. “I never want to be apart from you ever again.” He pushed a box across the table. “Kimberley, will you-” “YES! OF COURSE YES!” She held up the ring, examining it. “Woah, this thing is HUGE! It must have cost you a lot of money.” “Well, I borrowed some money from my Dad. I didn’t tell him what for, but I’m sure he wont...” But Kimberley wasn’t listening, she was examining the diamond on her finger.
“I’m so glad you like it!” Simba had begun to well up slightly. “You look so beautiful tonight...” “Yeah...” She was still gazing into the diamond’s sparkling surface. He produced a bottle of champagne and poured them both glasses. “To my beautiful fiancée.” “To me being spouse to a legacy heir!” “Well, they haven’t told us the results of the poll yet sweetie.” “Who wouldn’t vote for you? I mean, no offence, but Zazu- too bookish. Timon- too weird. And Shenzi... The less said about Shenzi the better.” He was secretly pleased she was so confident in him, but wasn’t listening properly. He was just too happy.
“Timon! Shenzi! I’m so glad you’re here!” Simba cried. “We have an announcement.” “Go on then, tell us!” said Shenzi. “Ok. We’re-” “WE’RE GETTING MARRIED?!”
“Sorry, what? The Wrackspurts got me for a second. Phew!” Simba chuckled. “	Timon, we’re getting married!” “Oh! Well, congratulations! I better start planning my wedding outfit! What ribbons shall I have, blue ones? Red ones? Oooh, what about multicoloured ones?” She hugged Simba and then Kimberley. “We’re all going to a club to celebrate!” cried Kimberley. “Get everyone to come, yeah?” “Sure!” She sped off to fetch all the dormies.
Shenzi was still dumbstruck. “Married?!” “Yeah!” cried Simba. “Isn’t it great!” “Yeah... Shenzi is so happy for you!” She tried to pull her face into a smile, but all she could manage was a grimace. “Yeah, so we’ll be sisters in law.” Kimberley smirked in satisfaction. “Wont it be fun?” “Yeah... Shenzi might pass on the club. Thank you though...” “Oh, are you sure?” said Simba. “Yeah. Night.” She walked away.
“What’s up with her?” Simba frowned. Shenzi liked a good party as much as he did. Why wouldn’t she come? Note how stalkerish Misa is being in the background. “Love me Simba LOVE ME?!?!” “What was that Misa?” “Oh nothing. Misa away!” Kimberley watched Shenzi walk off, then pretended to whimper. “Oh Kim, don’t cry!” Simba rushed to comfort her. “She- Has- Never- Liked- ME!” She wailed in between sobs. “I’ll go ask her what her problem is. You go to the club without me, I’ll be fine.” “Are- You- Sure?” “Yes.” “OK!” She bounded away.
Shenzi stared out of the window, just in time to see the party leave, including Timon and Zazu. What is he doing, marrying her? She thought. “Shenzi,” said Simba. Shenzi whipped around. “Oh! You startled Shenzi! She thought you’d left. Why aren’t you with Kim?”
“Shenzi, don’t play coy with me. I know you don’t like Kim.” “Shenzi likes Kim! She does!” “Don’t lie!” Shenzi flinched at his shout. “You’ve never liked her!” “She does!” “Don’t treat her badly because you have a problem with her!” “Shenzi has a problem with Kim???” “Yes!” “Kim keeps glaring at her, Kim keeps making fun of her when you’re not around, and Shenzi has the problem?!” “Just be happy for me and Kimberley, OK?” “Shenzi’s had enough!” She turned to storm out the room.
Simba caught her arm, gripping it tightly. “Ow, Simba, let Shenzi go!” She wrenched her arm free and sidestepped Simba, but he got to the door first. He took the key to her door from the bedside table, locked the door and put they key in his pocket. “We’re not leaving until you tell me why you don’t like her!”
Shenzi’s usually calm demeanour slowly changed as she was consumed by anger. Her nostrils flared, and her hands were curled into fists. “You want to know why Shenzi doesn’t like Kimberley?” Her voice was dangerously soft. “YES!” Simba yelled. “Ok then. She’s rude, elitist, callous, unhelpful, backstabbing, untrustworthy, spiteful, stubborn, selfish, hateful, arrogant, envious, cruel, vain, self centred, dishonest, petty gold digger who only likes you because you’re a legacy heir!” Simba growled in anger, his eyes flashing. “Take. That. Back.” “NO! Shenzi’s had enough! Enough of the cow and what she’s doing to you! Don’t you see it Simba? She’s using you, she just wants to-”
But Shenzi felt a tingling sensation in her fingers. Her skin began to heat up, and she felt her hair beginning to grow longer. “Simba!” She shrieked. “Get out!” “No!” He cried, unaware of her transformation. “You take that back, or I’ll never talk to you again!” But it was too late. The familiar red-orange light surrounded her.
“Shenzi?” Simba cried. “Shenzi, what’s happening?!”
She let out a terrifying howl to the moon that chilled Simba’s blood. His big sister’s sharp fangs glinted menacingly, and he backed against the door. His fingers scrambled for the doorknob, but he remembered in horror that he had locked the door. His hands fumbled for the key in his pocket, but it fell to the floor. He frantically tried to pick it up, but a clawed paw stood on it.
Simba moaned in terror. He glanced up. His sister’s yellow eyes stared into his soul, and she growled. “Shenzi’s going to make you wish you’d never been born.”
Shenzi frantically scrubbed her hands, tears rolling down her face. She scooped up some water and cleaned her face, digging her nails into her face as she attempted to wash the dried blood and tears from her face. She stared at her face. Her monstrous face.
“What has Shenzi done...?”
Once again, the family were back at AMGH. They had been waiting for hours, the only sound the tick of the clock on the wall. Dunstan sat with his head in his hands, staring at the floor, scared to look up in case he saw a doctor who would tell him something he didn’t want to hear. But at the same time, he was desperate for news of his son. Caractacus kept waking and falling back to sleep every five or ten minutes. When he was awake he would sob quietly to himself, but it was better than his hunched posture whilst he slept. He looked pitiful, screwed into a ball with the pain in his insides. Zazu was pacing the waiting room, too nervous to sit still. Timon sat on the floor, hugging her knees. Shenzi simply sat at the opposite side of the room, on her own.
But the clock ticked on, and every tick seemed like knives in Simba’s heart to Shenzi. How long would they keep him in their for? She thought. He’s got to be OK. He just has to be. Finally, after an excruciating amount of time, a doctor appeared.
“Mr Gladrags?” Both Caractacus and Dunstan jumped to their feet. “That’s me,” they said in unison. “I’m afraid your son was gravely injured. I’m sorry, but he-” “NO!” Dunstan sank to his knees, wailing and sobbing. “-didn’t make it.” “YOU’RE LYING!” Dunstan screamed. “My boy! Simba!” Both Caractacus and Dunstan were in hysterical tears now, shaking violently with grief. Dunstan sobbed into Caractacus’s shoulder whilst he stroked Dunstan’s hair.
“I’m sorry. The attacker not only cut the jugular in the neck, but also a vital vein in the leg. The bleeding was too severe. We did all we could. I’ll leave you alone now.” She left as quietly as possible.
Zazu was more controlled. She allowed a single tear to roll down her cheek, then ran to hug Timon. Timon was worse off. Her nut brown eyes, exactly the same shade as Simba’s, filled with tears. Zazu comforted her, but nothing could stop their horrifying, gut wrenching grief.
Shenzi watched them. Timon had Zazu to comfort her, her parents has each other. She watched her family’s lives slowly fall apart. She had caused all this pain. All this grief. The question was, if they all had each other to cry on-
-now Simba was gone, who would look after her?

The Gladrags Legacy: Chapter 10- Can You Feel The Love Tonight?

  • 3. That’s much better. I figured I’d actually give you the information I’ve been holding back on all these chapters. Zazu is 2/7/4/6/9, and a Pleasure sim with a secondary aspiration of Knowledge. She’s studying Psychology.
  • 4. Shenzi is 2/9/4/5/8, and a Popularity sim with a secondary aspiration of Pleasure. She’s studying Biology.
  • 5. Now he’s grown up, I have come to realise that Simba is actually rather attractive. I mean, SWOON! Anyway, he’s 2/9/6/5/9, and a Romance sim with a secondary aspiration of Popularity. He’s also studying Biology.
  • 6. Timon is 2/9/6/5/9, and a Fortune sim with a secondary aspiration of Family. And yes, that is what she’s wearing. Wait till you see the bottom half!
  • 7. BAM. Coming at ya like a wet flannel!
  • 8. And of course, our favourite supporting cast are back. Misa and Takki are here! YAY! (Also, Misa is studying Maths. MISA?!) But unfortunately it also means Simba’s gold-digging girlfriend Kimberley is also here. BOO! But do not despair! Because we still have...
  • 9. Pumbaa. Pumbaa is probably one of my favourite sims I’ve ever made. I mean, look at that outfit, that hair, that makeup. She’s just amazing!
  • 10. The next three slides prove that sometimes you don’t need captions to pictures. They’re just freakin’ funny.
  • 11.
  • 12. These happened straight after each other- and whilst I was trying to take Timon and Pumbaa out to a very special shoppe...
  • 15. Timon gazed at the crystal balls and occult books, in awe and amazement. She traced the pattern on the front of Unfogging the Future by Cassandra Vablatsky. It was just... Incredible.
  • 17. Meanwhile, Simba and Kimberley were being far less innocent. You know what the fireworks mean folks!
  • 20. Ugh.
  • 30. My angel...
  • 34. “Timon! Shenzi! I’m so glad you’re here!” Simba cried. “We have an announcement.” “Go on then, tell us!” said Shenzi. “Ok. We’re-” “WE’RE GETTING MARRIED?!”
  • 38. Shenzi stared out of the window, just in time to see the party leave, including Timon and Zazu. What is he doing, marrying her? She thought. “Shenzi,” said Simba. Shenzi whipped around. “Oh! You startled Shenzi! She thought you’d left. Why aren’t you with Kim?”
  • 41. She’s using you, she just wants to-”
  • 43. “Shenzi?” Simba cried. “Shenzi, what’s happening?!”
  • 45. Simba moaned in terror. He glanced up. His sister’s yellow eyes stared into his soul, and she growled. “Shenzi’s going to make you wish you’d never been born.”
  • 46.
  • 47. Shenzi frantically scrubbed her hands, tears rolling down her face. She scooped up some water and cleaned her face, digging her nails into her face as she attempted to wash the dried blood and tears from her face. She stared at her face. Her monstrous face.
  • 48. “What has Shenzi done...?”
  • 49.
  • 51. But the clock ticked on, and every tick seemed like knives in Simba’s heart to Shenzi. How long would they keep him in their for? She thought. He’s got to be OK. He just has to be. Finally, after an excruciating amount of time, a doctor appeared.
  • 53. “I’m sorry. The attacker not only cut the jugular in the neck, but also a vital vein in the leg. The bleeding was too severe. We did all we could. I’ll leave you alone now.” She left as quietly as possible.
  • 55. Shenzi watched them. Timon had Zazu to comfort her, her parents has each other. She watched her family’s lives slowly fall apart. She had caused all this pain. All this grief. The question was, if they all had each other to cry on-
  • 56. -now Simba was gone, who would look after her?
