1. OFFICIAL VIP HOSPITALITY PACKAGE
LOUIS VUITTON AMERICA’S CUP WORLD SERIES, PORTSMOUTH
21 – 24 JULY 2016
VICTORY LOUNGE
2. INTRODUCTION
The America’s Cup is the oldest international sporting trophy and is a contest
like no other. Whoever claims the ‘Auld Mug’ wins the right to decide the rules
for the next contest such as what type of boats, when they should race
and where.
The America’s Cup is both a sailing race and a design race. It is also a hugely
competitive event with every Cup cycle dominated by manoeuvring over the
rules, the venue and the boat.
The America’s Cup is without doubt one of the most prestigious of all sporting
competitions. In the 165 years since the first race, only four nations have been
victorious. Despite the first race taking place in Cowes back in 1851, Britain
has yet to win it.
The 35th America’s Cup will take place in Bermuda in 2017 when the
Defenders of the Cup (Oracle Team USA) will take on the best of the
challengers in a head to head race.
The Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series is instrumental in determining
which Team gets to step up in the final (winner takes all) competition.
3. 2015 AND 2016 – LOUIS VUITTON AMERICA’S CUP WORLD SERIES
