Tyre Pressure Monitoring
Cost and Usability Aspects for Commercial Vehicles
Correct tyre pressure provides four benefits!
Incorrect tyre pressure increases your operating
cost and can be dangerous, too.
With too little air in your tyres you will face excessive wear and in the end there is the risk of a break
down. At the same time, overinflated tyres and excessive load will also reduct your mileage.
The diagram on the right clearly shows:
20% too much load or 20% too little pressure will
increase tyre wear by around 20%, i.e. you are only
using 80% of maximum possible mileage.

The impact on fuel consumption is just as serious. Produkt-Informationen > Der Luftdruck
Studies by Shell, VDA, Wabco et. al. are agreeing on 2,5% higher fuel consumption at 20% below rated pressure. This percentage increases up to 8%
for lower pressures.
The third aspect is maintenance cost:
Thorough tyre maintenance costs time: ca. 60 - 90 seconds per wheel and
costs are repeating typically once a week. With labor costs of 15 - 20 Euro per
hour, your yearly total per vehicle accumulates ca. 750 Euro.
Finally there is the cost for neglected maintenance which will lead to more frequent tyre failures than with regular maintenance or with monitored tyres.
These tyre failures are very costly when they occur. Costs of 1500 Euro per
event are common; and in many cases there will be additional costs for the
downtime of the vehicle plus penalties for failing to meet delivery commitments.
With a tyre pressure monitoring system all four aspects will be improved:
The tyre pressures are permanently monitored and (via a telematics system) it
can be added as a parameter to the cost accounting; this adds another important variable to your calculations and MIS.
The result: improved competitiveness in an ever narrower market and an improved bottom line without much effort.

LED Pressure Alarm
Optical-electronic tyre pressure monitoring sensors
The valve cap warns with a red flashing light
when the pressure in your tyre is too low.
LED pressure alarm is a strong tool to prevent
flat tyres and to reduce operating costs (fuel
consumption, tyre wear); at the same time driving safety is improved considerably.
The sensor is installed on the valve in place of
the valve cap; during installation it automatically calibrates to the pressure present in the
tyre and monitors it permanently.
If the pressure drops by more than 0,5 Bar, the
sensor warns by a red flashing light. The LED
is clearly visible for 20 m even in daylight.
Pressure variations as a result of temperature
changes are automatically compensated - no
false warnings. Anti theft protection is included
in the design.

The sensor caps are very robust and are
installed in three easy steps:
1) Inflate cold tyre to required cold

Parkmatic Powerline
Reversing sensor with 7 warning zones
for trucks and trailers

Specially designed for long vehicles such as trucks and busses, modular and
flexibel; quick and easy installation. With Parkmatic Powerline you can use the
comfort and safety of a professional reversing sensor system with little installation effort for your own fleet.
Structure and function of the system
The system consists of two parts:
1) Sensorbox (ECU) with 4 sensors is installed at the rear end of the vehicle
and connected to the reversing light. Box is activated by reverse gear.
2) Optical and acoustic display Anzeige (LED with buzzer): The display will be
attached to the vehicle electrical. Data transmission is done via the vehicle
wire harness (“+”- line). No signal wirings are required!

✔ Easy trailer change: LE9 display recognizes all connected ECUs.
