As the crowd kept growing — the immigrant advocacy group put the final estimate at 13,000 —

Those at the end of the line were told that more workshops are planned. But there was
nonetheless anger and frustration among those who had to wait without getting help, evidence

“It was chaotic and not organized,” Christian Villalovos, 20, a Northern Illinois University

waited in line for an hour without accomplishing anything.
President Barack Obama has described the program, officially known as Deferred Action for
Childhood Arrivals, as a “stopgap measure” in the absence of successful DREAM Act legislation
that would provide conditional legal status to students and U.S. military personnel.
Critics of the measure have complained in email blasts and on websites that the initiative usurps
congressional authority. But for the several thousand people who made it inside Navy Pier’s
Grand Ballroom, the program’s first day was cause for celebration.
At one point, everyone in the ballroom took a break from talking with volunteer attorneys and
going over paperwork to recite the Pledge of Allegiance before a U.S. flag. Liliana Garcia’s voice
rose above those around her during the pledge and at times cracked with emotion.
After arriving from Mexico City in 2000, Garcia, 24, said she has struggled to find work near
where she and her two daughters — ages 4 and 7 — live in Waukegan.
Applying for protected status means she might be able to land something better than the
minimum-wage cashier’s job at a local supermarket that has supported the family, she said.
“It’s going to mean a lot for us,” she said. “I can give them a better future.”

Support For Mayor Against Ins

CHICAGO — Your editorial of March 15 on Mayor Harold Washington`s executive order
regarding the city`s dealings with the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) missed the
two basic points of the order.
The executive order intends (1) to guarantee fair access to municipal benefits, opportunities and
services to all Chicago residents, protecting them from discrimination due to their national origin
or citizenship status and (2) to protect city employees from harassment by INS agents.
Dream Relief Is Definitely Leading To The Browning Of America
Over the years there have been numerous news stories pertaining to the browning of America,
well this particular order definitely plays a role in leading toward that direction. I’m sure there is a
certain segment of Americans that are extremely upset and feel that the borders around the
country are being open for anyone to come. They also believe this lowers the opportunity to
obtain work, education, public services and more.
The United States Of America does openly promote opportunities for immigrants, so it’s difficult
to understand why some citizens are annoyed when people from other countries take
advantage at what is being offered. American citizens vote in political figures that are supposed
to speak on their behalf, laws can be changed. So how do you feel about dream relief day?
Everyone has an opinion or like to speak about a particular topic. Well, look how a
young lady from the southside of Chicago became RICH doing just that, click here.
Can you believe that saving money is this easy? See what I did and what you should
also do, here. Is there anyone that doesn’t shop? Does anyone like to make money?
How about shopping and meanwhile make CASH MONEY? This is unbelievable, check
it out here.
