Progressive Deployment
Products have been designed to fill the market requirement for cost-effective,
rapid response small geostationary spacecraft providing solutions for filing
protection, service start-up, capacity augmentation, etc.
Small satellite solutions are ideally suited to progressive deployment, allowing
capacity roll-out to be tailored to meet market needs and financial constraints.

Product Positioning
SSTL identified a needs for telecommunication satellite solution, addressing
relatively quick construction time and less expensive Capex.
Segments of existing and emerging markets with a need of smaller capability or
that is currently under-served.
Such segments will be complimentary to Eurostar-3000’s capability.

Commercial scenario
Launch cost barrier for missions around 15 transponders.
• Price per transponder is still too expensive
• The business case cannot be secured.
The great majority of telecommunication missions are
launched with unsold capabilities in terms of launch mass.
• ‘excess’ is synonymous of ‘unused’ and ‘unsold’.
The idea behind GMP-A
• Use the empty volume inside the launch adapter
• No impact on the primary passenger nor the fairing design.
Commercial objective
• Not simply targeting a particular ‘niche’ in the market, but
aiming at creating a ‘new ecosystem’ of opportunities for
operators, satellite manufactures and launch providers.

Progressive Deployment Products have been designed to fill the market requirement for cost-effective, rapid response small geostationary spacecraft providing solutions for filing protection, service start-up, capacity augmentation, etc. Small satellite solutions are ideally suited to progressive deployment, allowing capacity roll-out to be tailored to meet market needs and financial constraints.

GMP-E Key objectives • Tremendous saving of launch cost due to compact size. • Scalable solution that covers a range of power . • Choice of mission solution, without the need of extensive qualification campaign or significant NRE. • Compatible with single stack or dispenser configuration • The structure can be launched using spare space of a primary mission GSLV Zenith 3SLB Soyuz (Kourou) Falcon 9

GMP-A (upper stage flight opportunity) Commercial scenario Launch cost barrier for missions around 15 transponders. • Price per transponder is still too expensive • The business case cannot be secured. The great majority of telecommunication missions are launched with unsold capabilities in terms of launch mass. • ‘excess’ is synonymous of ‘unused’ and ‘unsold’. The idea behind GMP-A • Use the empty volume inside the launch adapter • No impact on the primary passenger nor the fairing design. Commercial objective • Not simply targeting a particular ‘niche’ in the market, but aiming at creating a ‘new ecosystem’ of opportunities for operators, satellite manufactures and launch providers. The most affordable, reliable opportunity to deliver payloads to GEO. A novel satellite platform designed to utilize unused launch vehicle capacity, while providing state-of-the-art approaches to manufacturing and propulsion.
