Troy Bruner conducted a study comparing levels of pathological gambling among methamphetamine abusers and other substance abusers. The study found that methamphetamine abusers exhibited higher levels of pathological gambling compared to other substance abusers. Specifically, instruments showed that 53.1% of methamphetamine abusers met criteria for pathological gambling at some point, compared to 25.9% of other substance abusers. The results support further research into comorbid substance abuse and pathological gambling, as well as potential specialized treatment approaches.
