This is a mid - shot which allows the viewer to see the upper section of the manโs body. This shot
allows the viewer to see then manโs facial expression, the director has chosen to show this shot
because it will automatically make the viewer wonder what the man is looking at. This builds up
suspense and tension for the viewer, because of them anticipating what can occur next in the scene.
The director has also chosen to expose the manโs face to high key exposure. This allows the
characters face to be defined and vibrant so through the facial expression the audience can see what
the character is thinking and feeling at that moment in the scene. The man also has blood on his top
which also allows the viewer to think why he has got the blood on his top.

shot we are also able to see a television which has a doll on the TV screen. Looking at this scene
automatically makes the reader think what is the doll saying and what Is the doll planning on doing

low key lighting this allows the scene to feel dark, gloomy and isolated to the viewer. This allows the
reader to anticipate what could occur next in the scene. Also the man has something on his face this
makes the viewer wonder what has happened for this to be on the manโs face.

are in. This image makes the reader think what are the characters looking at and why do they have
that facial expression on their faces. The director has chosen to use high key exposure this
emphasises the characters facial expressions. The director has purposely done this to highlight the
blood that is on the characters faces. This also allows questions such as why do they have blood on
their faceโs , this entices the viewer to continue watching to see what will occur next in the scene.

where different types of events could occur. The house has a freaky feeling to it because it is dark
and the house only has one light on it, normally a house would have several lights to make the house
look attractive. The house makes the reader wonder what events could occur and is the house under
3. some sort of curse. The director has used low key exposure which only highlights certain aspects of
the house to make it have a haunted feeling towards it.
This house setting is perfect for a thriller movie because the setting is over grown meaning that no
one has lived in the house for some time. This makes the reader wonder why hasnโt anyone lived in
the house for some time, the overgrown weeds complements this statement. The director has
chosen to show the house in a high key exposure to emphasise the houseโs features.
The rooms has a dark feeling because of the colours that the director has chosen to use such as dark
and light blues to emphasise this feeling. The director has also chosen to use high key lighting to
emphasise the characters face so you are able to see the characters facial expressions. The images
makes the viewer wonder why has he got the doll in his hand and why has he got a serious facial
expression on his face. The setting seems gloomy that highlights the thriller theme.
