This document discusses KISTI's efforts to promote global access to Korean scholarly journals through Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and open access approaches. It provides background on the challenges facing Korean journals, such as language barriers and low international visibility. It then outlines KISTI's models for DOI assignment and open access publishing, and results including growth in DOI-identified journals and citations. The conclusion emphasizes that DOIs and open access can help internationalize Korean journals through KISTI initiatives and cooperation with publishers.
