Luce Della Vite was founded in 1995 by a unique
partnership between two historic winemaking
families: Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi and Robert
Mondavi. From its inception, Luce was an
innovative wine and the first ever produced in
Montalcino by blending Merlot and Sangiovese
grapes.
Lucente, their second wine, entered the market at
$80/bottle. Lucente 1995 appears limpid, bright
with purple reflections. On the nose, it is intense,
with hints of mocha and berries. Barrique aging
gives the wine an excellent complexity, and well
integrated aromas.
