4. It’s true….I’m a Baby Boomer
In 2011 The Canadian census stated that 3 out 10 of
us were “Boomers”. And while that may have been
cool to admit back in the „90‟s, now that we are
hitting our 50‟s and 60‟s…now….maybe not so much.
Why do we feel that way ?

5. 10 Reasons Why Being a Boomer May Suck
1. The perception or reality of receiving less respect
2. Loneliness
3. Financial strain
4. Death/illness of friends & loved ones
5. Decreased health & mobility & denial about what we
need to maintain & increase our health
6. Sense of time moving too fast
7. Fewer career opportunities
8. Increased dependence on others
9. Fear of the future
10. Regrets
Wahhh!
6. Wait. There’s plenty of great news for us
Thank
God!
1. We have 50% of the discretionary spending-marketers
are loving us and willing to listen to what we want.
2. We live longer than previous generations
3. We are willing to work hard to look as good as we can
4.On the other hand, we don’t care to look 25 anymore
5. We are more comfortable in our skin. We’re confident.
We’re not afraid to voice our opinions.
6. We embrace the items on our ‘bucket list’ as never
before.
7. We love life and value learning and educational
experiences
8. We know the importance of relationships
9. We are sought after for our wisdom
10. We have time to give back, indulge ourselves and reach
goals
7. The reality is:
1. Employers value us and want us to pass
our expertise to the next wave of
employees.
2. Entrepreneurship is a viable opportunity
for us.
3. Products and services are being churned
out regularly for us- not because we’re old,
but because, with family grown and
mortgage paid, we can afford to buy.
4. There is a plethora of websites,
magazines and social groups , all tailored to
help us make the best of these ‘boomer
years’

8. 5.We run triathlons, climb mountains,
learn Italian. In other words we have
no limits. You heard me-no limits.
6. We date. We fall in love. We have sex.
Maybe not even in that order.
7. We’ve got style like never before. Our
OWN style –sexy, confident, comfortable,
chic. Not trashy.
9. 8.We have morphed out of the ‘cookie making
grandma ’ state to being a more active participant in
our grandbabies lives. Race you to the swings!
9. We’ve learned to treat ourselves. Finally. And
without guilt.
10. We no longer think we have to figure everything
out-there are people out there who do that for a
living. Yay.
I should say
SO!
10. In short, we rock.
