PROJECTS DONE:
1. Data Transmission System of an Optically Modulated Laser Beam
This project supports point-to-point communication link. A free space laser link has been designed and
implemented using PC as a host" by asynchronous serial transmission. Since any serial data from either
host is represented by turning the laser beam as on for a one and off for a zero, visible red laser diode is
the heart of the project. The maximum speed of serial port is 115 Kbps. Wireless laser system was
designed and can be used as a direct link between adjacent buildings for short range communication
network architecture without Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI).
2. Optimized Scheduling for Multiuser Diversity in Free Space Optical Communication
A point-to-multipoint system consisting of an optical transmitter equipped with K apertures, and K users
communicating over Free-Space Optical (FSO) channels is considered. It is assumed that each link
suffers from weak-turbulence conditions. In this project performance of the system using various multiuser
diversity scheduling schemes in terms of the turbulence strength, from the throughput and the latency
perspectives are done. The scheduling algorithms are introduced to achieve a tradeoff between the
throughput and the latency in FSO-based systems.
3. EXPERIENCE SUMMARY:
