Candle in the heart story
Look at this little girl and just concentrate on her face, not on anything in front of our behind her our touching her. Imagine what it would be like to be her in that moment if she were just alone with the overwhelming feelings it looks like she’s having. How does it feel?
Now look closely above her right ear; someone is holding her, caressing her ear, maybe trying to soothe her. How different does that feel?
Bring together agencies and individuals, from a broad spectrum of the community, who are knowledgeable about the challenges faced by children and families in Springfield
Cast a wide net to identify the problems/sources of toxic stress / adversity in the lives of children/families in Springfield.
Opportunity for participants to talk to people in other agencies/groups to learn about their work.
Fire up community / participants
Encourage participants to share new knowledge with their agency/group/community/families
Inspire participants to re-frame their work wherever applicable
