Have you ever wished you had the opportunity to be a Server, Crucifer or
Torchbearer? If this is something you have always wanted to do, or even if you haven’t
really thought about it before, this is an invitation to any parishioners to speak to Rev’d
Janet by phone or e-mail at jrh@stnicholasbirch.com. The time commitment would be
once every 3 or 4 weeks.
"Sacred Stitches: 100 Years of Embroidery" Join the Toronto Diocesan ACW

their 100th anniversary. A celebration service will be held at St. James Cathedral on

Choir practice has begun, and we would love to have some new members.!
If you’ve thought you might like to join, but are not quite sure about it, here’s an
opportunity to give it a try. We’d like to have a few more singers for the Service of
Lessons and Carols on December 15th. If you would like to be a part of that one
service, come to choir practice on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm, and we’ll start
practice by working on the pieces for the Carol Service. We’ll finish up with the music
for the coming Sunday, and you’re welcome to stay, or you could leave at that time.
If you find that you really enjoy being part of the group, you might like to join us on a
regular basis! For more info, speak to Bill Goodfellow or call the Church Office.
Did you sign up to take the bus to Rev. Alison’s Induction at St. Martin’s this
afternoon? If so please see Janet Baron to pay the $10.00 per person fee. There
are 8 seats left, so it’s not too late to join us. Speak to Janet also about that.
Sunday School Update: This summer, we saw a 27.5% increase in the number of
children attending this year's Summer Church School program compared to last
summer's program. We want to thank our church school teachers for teaching classes
during the summer: MaryLynn Reddon D'Arcy, Sarah Brown, Maureen Rose Everatt
and Angela McCullock. As we start the new Church School year, we look forward to
dividing back into our 3 classes (Toddler, Multi-Age and Senior) and having another
fun-filled year. You will also notice that a piano has now moved into the Church School
area and we look forward to incorporating more music into the program this year. We
would love to add new teachers to our program, so if you have experience working with
children and would like to share this special gift with our Church School, please speak
to Angela McCullock (Church School Coordinator) before or after the 10:30am service
or through the Church Office (Email: office@stnicholasbirchcliff.com or by phone at
416-691-0449). The 2013/14 sign-up sheet for teachers is at the Manderley Street
entrance.

Time to Declutter
Yes, it’s that time of year to clean out your book shelves, your home
entertainment centre and those corners where the extras pile up. St. Nick's
Book Room is expanding and we need your donations for this year's
Bazaar. We want your hard cover and soft cover books, your CDs, DVDs,
games, magazines, book ends, in fact anything we can sell. Please leave your
donations at the bottom of the Manderley Road stairs. Got a lot to donate -call
Stephanie Ford at 416 392 02024 or 416 690 0213 and arrange a convenient
time for pick up. Thank you and every donation is appreciated.
A note from the Bazaar Committee: We are only taking in items for the book
room at this time because Stephanie is taking them home to sort and categorize.
Please don’t begin to bring in any other items until the week before the Bazaar.
Unfortunately, we just don’t have the space to store them.
