Looking bad As adults our laughter is often not free flowing. We hold it back, suppress it or change it, making sure that it’s a good laugh: not too loud and not too long, avoiding all inclinations of spitting, coughing, snorting and other unmentionables. Laughed at We are also afraid of wasting time, being talked about, not taken seriously, losing our teeth and looking stupid. Everyone wants to look their best. Being Inappropriate Have you ever laughed at the wrong thing or the wrong time? Laughed at someone only to realise that you were next.
Just how powerful can an optimistic outlook be? Two studies - one of which shows how not smoking increases life expectancy by 7 years, while the other shows that living positively and optimistically increases life expectancy by 10 years. Who knew? Pessimistic or destructive thoughts have more energy and power that positive one. You have to recognize and challenge these thoughts that roll around in our minds.
