1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. LiveType
• I used LiveType to produce the title for our production.
• I have never used this software before so I learnt the basics so I could still use the
program well. After a few attempts of getting the correct font and layout, I found
the software easy to use.
• However on first look it did come across as very professional and I was a bit
concerned I wouldn’t be able to learn the appropriate skills to achieve what we
wanted, however it was fine once I had the structure to our title finalized.
• If I was ever to create another project I would use LiveType again, as it was
convenient and helped us achieve the ‘ROUGE’ title we had envisioned.
3. Premiere Pro
• I used Premiere Pro to show the credits that would run along side our film opening.
• I also had never used Premiere Pro before, so like LiveType I learnt how to create the credits
we wanted for our film. The software also looked very professional with multiple options to
editing your film.
• However because I has already edited our opening in iMovie, I didn't’t need to focus on
learning all the other editing techniques are I only needed to program for the fonts and
positioning.
• Overall I really enjoyed Premiere Pro, and if I created another film, I would use the software
to edit instead of iMovie as it is more sophisticated and would also challenge me further into
editing our final product.
4. iMovie
• For our main editing I used iMovie to create and put together our
narrative.
• I already had knowledge on using iMovie so I found it very easy and quick
to import and begin editing our narrative structure.
• The drawback to using iMovie is how simple the software is. I struggled to
create certain aspects or ideas on the basis that the program was just too
simple for our ideas.
• So after our raw footage had been finalized I used other programs to
enhance what I had edited, such as LiveType and Premiere.
5. Camera
• We filmed our production on the Panasonic HDC-SD700 camcorder, the
camera shoots in HD, giving a high quality picture, making our film look
professional.
• I have never used this camera before, however I did feel confident using it
as I have knowledge on camera and filming.
• The camera was of good quality however next time I would like to use a
bigger camera in order to see clearer what footage we had collated.
