21. All Together Now
A short definition
“Co-production is a partnership between
citizens and public services to achieve a
valued outcome”
(New Economics Foundation 2009)
22. All Together Now
What’s needed for coproduction?
• Openness - speaking and listening to each
other
• Respect – for others views and responsibilities
• Sharing –
aims, expectations, resources, responsibilities
and power
• Working – together towards those aims
• Recognising - and overcoming barriers
23. What we’ve learned
• We don’t always agree!
• Don’t get bogged down in process
• Do you really share the same goal?
• Coproduction needs leaders
• Coproduction takes a little longer – but you get
a better quality end product
• Have ground rules and ‘spot checks’.
