  • 2. 1. To identify the elements of short story. 2. To perform a role playing out from the story. 3. To value the lesson of the story.
  • 3. II. Subject Matter: Elements of short story Materials: flashcards/pictures, manila paper, marker, handouts ‘The Necklace’ story
  • 4. A. Drill - Greet the students & ask one student to lead the prayer.  - Post the flashcards/pictures  - ask if who & in what stories thus they represent.  B. Review - Who was our topic yesterday?
  • 5. C. Lesson Proper I. Motivation  What is your favorite short story?  Why did you like it?  Which part that made you interested or get attracted? II. Presentation  Give the common elements with their meanings.
  • 6. III. Application  Divide into 2 groups. Each group should find short stories & role playing in the chosen story.  Give some morals that you get in your chosen short story. IV. Generalization  What was the elements of the story that contributed a good feedback when you perform the character of the said role play.  What is the importance of elements of short story.
  • 7. V. Evaluation In a ¼ sheet of paper, write your answer using different elements of short story. 1. The series of related events that together form a story. 2. Point of greatest suspense or interest. 3. Who takes part in the action of a short story. 4. Parts of story that provides information. 5. Struggle between opposing forces. VI. Assignment  Read the selection ”The Scarlet of Ibis” by James Hurst. Determine its character, setting, conflict & the resolution. In a ½ sheet of paper.
