The document discusses the Christian & Missionary Alliance's statement of faith on the church. It defines the church as consisting of all believers in Jesus Christ who are redeemed by his blood and born again by the Holy Spirit, with Christ as the head. The church has been commissioned to go into all the world witnessing and preaching the gospel. There will be both true believers and false believers ("tares") within churches.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Church consists of all those who believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed
through His blood, and are born again of the
Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the
Church, (27) which has been commissioned by
Him to go into all the world as a witness,
preaching the gospel to all nations.(28)

9. THE CHURCH-
WORSHIPPING WITH THE TARES
The Kingdom of Heaven may be compared to a
man who sowed good seed in his field. But while
his men were sleeping, his enemy came and
sowed tares among the wheat and went away.
But when the wheat sprouted and bore grain,
then the tares became evident also. Matthew 13:24+
A local church will have tares with which to
CAREFULLY contend: be too aggressive and
youâll uproot genuine believers in your zeal for
a pure âfieldâ
10. EXTREME CASE IN POINT
But I have this against you: that you tolerate the
woman Jezebel who calls herself a prophetess and
she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so
that they commit acts of immorality and eat
things sacrificed to idols. Revelation 2:19
Jesus tells John of a false prophetess in
Thyatira who infects the church there. He
warns all to avoid this lady and hold fast to
what they have left of the truth (vs 25).
Jesus calls us to be overcomers.

SPIRITUAL PROFILES
Letters to Sev en Churches
Revelationâs
Ephesus: Doctrinally sound; without love
Smyrna: Faithful under tribulation and persecution
Pergamum: Persevering under persecution yet eager to
compromise with the world
Thyatira: Great works, yet harbors immorality in her midst
Sardis: Look alive and vibrant, but theyâre spiritually dead
Philadelphia: Keep Christ Name, use the power they have
Laodicea: Wealthy, self-satisfied and lukewarm to gospel
13. THE CHURCH-A HUGE DIVERSITY
OF SPIRITUAL WORTH
If any manâs work is burned up, he will suffer
loss, but he himself will be saved, yet as though
through fire. I Corinthians 3:15
At the Judgment Seat of Christ, all our works
are tested by fire for their worth. Some
Christians get rewards, others have nothing to
show for their Saviorâs love.
Nothing.
14. EXTREME CASE IN POINT
I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for
the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may
be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. I Corinthians 5:5
Here a Christian has so violated Godâs will and
his churchâs respect that Paul hands him off to
Satan for âthe destruction of his fleshâ.
But his spirit remains saved.

Christâs sake. 7. For I have come to have much joy
