2. Hey there! Welcome back to ‘Good Girls Go Bad’! Last chapter, Melanie found out she was pregnant. How’s Mel doing? Clickity!----------------------------
3. One Month Later Melanie looked at herself in the mirror. She scrutinized her stomach. Still flat. She breathed a sigh of relief. At least she wasn’t showing yet. She glanced at the clock. Unfortunately, it was time for school. She slipped into an outfit and headed off to school. *************
4. “So how are you doing, Mel?” Angelina asked as she and Mel were in art class. “I’m ok. I don’t think anything weird’s going on with…” she looked around and lowered her voice to a whisper. “The baby. I have been feeling a little nauseous in the mornings.”
5. “Oh, well, that’s normal…right?” “Yes, Ang,” Melanie replied, rolling her eyes. “Do you think these paint fumes are bad for the baby?”Angelina asked. “Shuddup, Ang!” Melanie hissed. “God, you’re so loud. And also, I hope they’re not.”
6. “Have you told Dean, or your parents yet?” Angelina asked. “No…I’m telling Dean at breaktime, and I’ll try to tell my parents after school.” Melanie replied. She was incredibly nervous about telling anyone about her pregnancy. “Well, good luck,” Angelina said. “Yeah, I’ll need it,” *************
7. “So why do suddenly want to talk to me, Mel? You’ve been ignoring me for a month,” Dean asked. “I’ve got something to tell you, and you better not get mad, because it’s YOUR fault!” “What?! Nothing’s my fault! What is that you think I’ve done?”
9. Dean stood there, dumbfounded. “What?” “I just told you, I’m pregnant!”
10. “And it’s mine? You’re SURE it’s not some other guy’s baby?” “WHAT?! Of course it’s yours! What do you think I am, a slut?!” “Don’t yell at me! This is a lot to take in!”
11. “It’s a lot for YOU to take in? Hello, I’m the one who had to find out I was going to be a teenage mother!” “And you’ve just told me I’m going to be a teenage father!”
12. “Whatever, it’s your kid too and you’re going to help me with it.” “What do you mean?” “I’m keeping the baby, and I want you to help me take care of it. I’m NOT doing this alone.” “I don’t want this baby, why should I take care of it?”
13. “Because you’re the father! And do you think I want this baby? I’m going to have to give up my entire teenage years!” “But-”
14. “And you’re going to help me, or I’m going to court, Dean! The judge will make you help! Not to mention that you could go to jail for having sex with a minor.” “Ok, ok, that won’t be necessary! I’ll help you.” “I thought you’d come around.” *************
15. Melanie came home from school to find her parents in the kitchen. Her mom was making supper and her dad was talking to her about Melanie’s aunt’s new house. Melanie felt butterflies swarm up in her stomach and felt a wave of nausea overcome her. She swallowed her trepidation and spoke. “Hey Mom? Daddy?”
16. Her dad turned around and smiled. “Hey, sweetie,” he said, walking towards her. “How was school?” “Fine…I need to talk to you guys about something.”
17. “Klara,” her dad said, calling her mom over. “Mel wants to talk to us.” “Ok…um, this is really hard to say, and so please don’t be mad at me, I know it’s awful, and that you’re disappointed, and I’m REALLY REALLY sorry, I know it’s my mistake, and that-” “Mel, honey, stop. What is it?”
19. “Melanie, how could you let this happen?! What were you thinking?” “Melanie, I can’t believe you! Why would you do something like this? Now your entire future is ruined!” “Liam-” her mom cut in. “How could you be so stupid?!” her dad said, and turned his back. Her mom slipped an arm around Melanie’s shoulder.
20. Melanie started crying even harder at her parent’s words. Of both their exclamations, her dad’s words hurt the most. She was always a daddy’s girl, and to know that she had disappointed him was an awful feeling.
21. “Liam,” her mom said to her dad, beseechingly. “Please, just calm down.”
23. He walked over to her and hugged her. “It’s okay, Mel. Don’t cry.”
24. Her mom grabbed her into a hug. “We love you, baby. Of course this is not an…ideal situation, but we’ll get through it.” “We’ll support you in whatever you want to do,” her dad said. “Thank you,” Melanie said, her voice muffled. “I love you guys.” “I’ll set up a doctor’s appointment for you, okay Mel?” her mom said. “Ok.”
25. Melanie went upstairs, changed into pajamas, smoothed her hair back, and called Angelina. “Hello?” “Hey, Ang.” “Mel! How’d Dean and your parents take it?”
26. “Actually, they took it well. Dean was a little shocked, and tried to refuse to help me, but I threatened to take him to court and he perked right up.” “And your parents? What did they say?”
27. “Well, at first Daddy was kinda angry. But then he hugged me and said it was ok, and that we’ll get through it. I know they’re both really disappointed, though. I wish they weren’t. Mom said she’d make me a doctor’s appointment for tomorrow afternoon. You coming?” “Yeah, ok. What time?” “4pm. We’ll pick you up.”
28. “’K. Bye, Mel. Love you!” “Love you too, Ang. Bye!” Mel hung up, turned off the lights, and went to bed. *************
29. The next day, Melanie, her mom, and Angelina went to the OB/GYN’s clinic at the hospital. “Mom, why are we at the hospital? Aren’t I going to the pediatrician?” “Melanie, we can’t go to the pediatrician. You’re pregnant, you need an OB.” “WHAT?!” “Calm down, it’s not all that bad.”
30. “But I-” “Melanie Hayes?” the nurse said as she came in. “I’m ready for you now.”
31. “That’s me,” Melanie said, standing up nervously. “Oh! Ok…” the nurse said, a bit surprised. Melanie could feel the nurse looking her slim figure and youthful pink dress up and down. “Well, you can follow me to the exam room.” “Ok…”
32. Melanie followed the nurse back to the exam room. “I’m Nurse Kaylie,” she said. “If you’ll just have a seat…” The nurse indicated the only chair in the room.
34. “I’m going to start off the exam with a few questions, ok?” “Ok…”
35. Having asked Melanie embarrassingly personal questions, Nurse Kaylie got out the ultrasound machine.
36. After the examination, Nurse Kaylie called Mel over to look at the ultrasound pictures. “Ok, Melanie, everything looks good. You’re a little over two months along, the baby is healthy, heartbeat sounds good. You’re perfectly fine, kiddo.” “Ok, thanks. Um…when do you think I’ll start to show?”
37. The nurse laughed softly. “Nervous about people finding out, huh? You’ll start to show about the 4th month.” “And when will I find out what it is?” “Around the 6th month.”
38. “Ok,” Melanie said. “Alright, well you’re good to go! Come back in a couple weeks.” Melanie walked out to the waiting room.
39. “Ok, Mom, the nurse said we can go,” Melanie said, smoothing back a piece of hair.
40. “Well, wait a minute, how’s the baby?” “The nurse said it’s fine. All healthy.” “Ok, that’s great. We’ll come back in a couple weeks, then.” “Ok…Ang, are you spending the night?” “Yeah, ok. Let me call my mom.” *************
41. “Well, it’s a good thing the baby’s healthy, Mel.” Angelina said. “Yeah…can we NOT talk about the baby for once?” “Ok, what do you wanna talk about?”
42. “Um…you never told me about your first time with Charlie! How was it?” “Oooh, Mel, it was fantastic! Charlie was so romantic, he wasn’t pushy at all.” “That’s great! You used protection?” “Of course!”
43. “I’m glad you’re so happy with Charlie. Seeing the two of you together kinda makes me want a boyfriend.” Melanie said wistfully. “You’ll find one! You know, Christian’s always sort of had a thing for you.” “Christian? I don’t know, doesn’t Mallory have a crush on him?”
44. “So what? Oh my gosh, Mel, I can so see you two together!” “Well…I’m not going to chase him, if he wants to ask me out, he can.” “Ok, well, I’m tired. Let’s go to bed.” ***********
45. On their breaktime the next day at school, Melanie and Angelina were bombarded by Mallory and Selena. “Mel! Is it true? You’re pregnant?” Selena asked. “Oh, God, who told you that?” “So it’s true?!” Mallory asked, shocked. “Well…yeah, it is. But where did you hear this?”
46. “Wait, whose baby is it?” “None of your business! Where did you hear about it?” “God, ok. I heard it from Mal.” “Mal? Who told you?” “Christian.” Melanie got up and rushed into the school.
47. She found him in the library. “Christian!” she said, storming in. “Oh, hey, Mel!” Christian said, his heart pounding. “What the hell?! How did you find out I was pregnant?”
48. “Uh…I heard it from Annika Marquez.” “Damn! That girl is such a gossip!” “It’s not true though, is it? I just said that to Mallory to shut her up, she never stops talking at me.”
49. “Yeah, actually, it is true! Don’t you DARE tell anyone else, got it!?” “Ok, Mel, I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have said anything. But…can I ask you something?” “I’m not telling you who the father is!” “No it’s not that…”
52. “I know. I don’t care. I really like you, Mel. I always have. So…what do you say?” “Well…I guess…ok.”
53. “Great! How does next Friday night sound?” “Ok…what time?” “Um…6pm? I can get us a table at Londoste, my cousin owns it.” “Londoste? That’s kind of a fancy place, isn’t it?” “Yeah, but I think dressing up and eating at a fancy place is romantic. Don’t you?” “Yeah, I guess.” “Great! I’ll call you later.” He walked out of the library as Angelina came in.
54. “There you are, Mel! I’ve been looking all over for you.” “You will not believe what just happened, Ang.” “What? What happened?” “Christian just asked me out.”
55. “Ha! What did I tell you! He DOES like you!” “Shut up. You’re helping me shop for a dress tomorrow, Christian and I are going to Londoste.” “Kinda fancy place.” “He thinks it’s romantic.” “…wow.” **************
56. That’s all for Chapter 4! Thanks for reading, any comments are welcome. Don’t know when Chapter 5 will be out. I think I want to get Angelina’s interlude out first. Wait, there’s MOAR! Click ---------------------------
57. Before you clickity out, I just wanted to share a pic of the two gorgeous Marquez twins! Esme is on the left, and Annika (that’s ON-nuh-ka, not Uh-neek-ka), who I mentioned in the chapter, is on the right. They’re actually the kids of that woman I showed in my flameypic at the end of Ch. 2a. I love them! Bye!
