AND MALAYSIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM
• Innovation has become one of the important
  components in the national policy
  development especially for the long run
  planning in a country.
• Necessary to be emphasized and actively
  implemented especially to suit the
  aspiration of the nation especially in
  realizing a new working structure in the
  country and to meet the future challenge
  globally.
GLOBAL CHALLENGES

• Lack of higher impact research
• Limited number of competent aspect
• Lack of exposure and resources to
  embrace education without burdens.
• More quality education programmes.
PURPOSES OF MALAYSIAN
  EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
Primary school
• To develop a solid foundation for life-
  long learning in children.
• UPSR (to measure a child’s progress)
• Standardized curriculum – ensure that
  important and fundamental subjects
  are well covered.
Secondary school
• Standardized curriculum – ensure
  consistency in learning standards.
• 2 international examination – level of
  understanding is measured.
• Further the study to get the certificate for
  university application and valid for some
  job.
• Higher educational institutions.
• Offer programs leading to the award of
  certificates, diploma and postgraduate
  qualification.
Tertiary education
• Offer programs leading to the award of
  certificates, diploma, first degree
  qualification.
TEACHING METHOD –
       TRADITIONAL METHOD
1. Direct teaching/ teaching – Centered teaching
• Teacher is the ‘king’ and student is the
  ‘subject’.
• Order must be followed without question or
  risked punishment.
2. Copying note from blackboard.
3. Teacher explains.
4. Teacher relates the knowledge to the real life
5. Through visualization/image
INNOVATION
1. Student centered
• Students themselves explore and explain the
  topics.
• Enhance students’ skill.
2. Technology as medium (Modern technology –
   LCD, laptop, internet)
• Long distance learning (conference between tutor
  and students).
• Self-learning using the web/network.
• Delivering of info by using the visual/multimedia.
• Sharing opinion with other foreign country.
HOW DO WE INNOVATE?
• Review the school structure – Reducing
  the types of school, pupils, from all races
  will be allocated into one integrated
  education system.
• Improve the learning environment –
  Reduced to a smaller number (20 pupils
  per class)
• Emphasize application on information
  should be more diversified.
• Improve teaching techniques –
  Implementing through Education Media
  Services (Provide education television,
  radio program and audio visual aids).
• Development of creativity in classroom.
- Master the skill
- Grammar
- Writing
BEST PRACTICE
1. Internship
• Students should be exposed and doing
  more practical.
2. Mastering the specific field chosen by the
students and the teachers also have to
master their field.
• We can produce expert from many field.
3. Using ICT for advance learning
• The system of learning will be more
  effective.

  • 2. INNOVATION • The process of thinking and a mindset that approaches a problem from a different perspective.
  • 3. RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INNOVATION AND MALAYSIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM • Innovation has become one of the important components in the national policy development especially for the long run planning in a country. • Necessary to be emphasized and actively implemented especially to suit the aspiration of the nation especially in realizing a new working structure in the country and to meet the future challenge globally.
  • 4. GLOBAL CHALLENGES • Lack of higher impact research • Limited number of competent aspect • Lack of exposure and resources to embrace education without burdens. • More quality education programmes.
  • 5. PURPOSES OF MALAYSIAN EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS Primary school • To develop a solid foundation for life- long learning in children. • UPSR (to measure a child’s progress) • Standardized curriculum – ensure that important and fundamental subjects are well covered.
  • 6. Secondary school • Standardized curriculum – ensure consistency in learning standards. • 2 international examination – level of understanding is measured. • Further the study to get the certificate for university application and valid for some job. • Higher educational institutions. • Offer programs leading to the award of certificates, diploma and postgraduate qualification.
  • 7. Tertiary education • Offer programs leading to the award of certificates, diploma, first degree qualification.
  • 8. TEACHING METHOD – TRADITIONAL METHOD 1. Direct teaching/ teaching – Centered teaching • Teacher is the ‘king’ and student is the ‘subject’. • Order must be followed without question or risked punishment. 2. Copying note from blackboard. 3. Teacher explains. 4. Teacher relates the knowledge to the real life 5. Through visualization/image

Technology as medium (Modern technology – LCD, laptop, internet) • Long distance learning (conference between tutor and students). • Self-learning using the web/network. • Delivering of info by using the visual/multimedia. • Sharing opinion with other foreign country.

HOW DO WE INNOVATE? • Review the school structure – Reducing the types of school, pupils, from all races will be allocated into one integrated education system. • Improve the learning environment – Reduced to a smaller number (20 pupils per class) • Emphasize application on information should be more diversified.
  • 11. • Improve teaching techniques – Implementing through Education Media Services (Provide education television, radio program and audio visual aids). • Development of creativity in classroom. - Master the skill - Grammar - Writing
  • 12. BEST PRACTICE 1. Internship • Students should be exposed and doing more practical. 2. Mastering the specific field chosen by the students and the teachers also have to master their field. • We can produce expert from many field. 3. Using ICT for advance learning • The system of learning will be more effective.
